Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

I saw your post on Fark... let me say that I hate you. There's no such thing as 2bedroom 150 around here... I'll be happy if I can eventually leverage 2br 350.

Just give me a townhome, where the buffalo roam...

You chose DC.

You chose DC.

I know... i find it absolutely nuts that housing prices in this area keeps going up... don't blame the federal employees... blame the rest of this area that's benefiting from govs expanse.

Insane lightning storm has weakened. I was out on my balcony for a bit trying to get pictures. I got a few that were kinda cool.

We were out too checking it out too. Boston to the east, Worcester to the south. If you concentrated on one you missed good stuff.

CC to Brent:
Sorry about this past weekend. One of me and not enough to go around.
How about the evening of the 10th?
Anyone can come...

Hi Lodge.
Been busy.
Hope you've all been well.

What day is that? Friday? I really have no clue. Why?:

Just got done with a 9am-9PM (!!!) shift. This is really getting old. 23 hours in the last 2 days. And it doesn't look like it's going to improve, even with the 3 newhires we got this week. It's pure BS. We're missing/just about missing all deadlines for our carriers, not even hitting our numbers, and tonight the NIGHT SHIFT actually started their shift before we were done. That bad. For the record, our normal end time SHOULD be 6:30pm.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

It is a Friday.
I'm back in for my 2nd fitting that weekend and can't be out until all hours on the Saturday; have to drive back on the Sunday.
Just want to hang with my Gopher brother and any other assorted miscreants that may be around. :)

Yeah that's cool. I'll say I can't work OT on that day, then. Yes, we have to give advance notice now. They can't force you to work overtime, but let's just say they don't take kindly to people who never work OT, or work minimal OT, right now. Again, it's BS.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

87 degrees, stiffling heat/humidity and Lil decides to run 4 miles (yesterday- humid 78 degrees was too hot ) He came in, took his shirt off and lay on the hardwood floor. He is now upstairs showering and there is a sweat angel on my living room floor. Yick. I wouldn't trade him in for anything but....

Been there, done that. ;)

That is my last day off pre-Grandma's week hilarinsanity... I might be able to be down for some of the day/early evening. Hell, if I have a floor and someone to make sure I'm out by 7:30am, I could have the night as well.

Hi, Lodge. FM and I just went to the Duluth Huskies (Northwoods League Baseball) game. Good times. We sat in the Kennel Klub--$27 all you can eat/drink. I said it sounded like a challenge. 4 beers and 2 heaping plates later... good times. :D

I can offer more than a floor.......

my couch is quite comfy. :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

I'm out that weekend. I have a small town festival and street dance to go to back home. They got Lost Highway for Friday night and Sawyer Brown Saturday night.. Yes, this town of 300 people got Sawyer Brown to play their street dance.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

For the record: When a tree falls in a yard, in most definitely makes a sound, a very, very loud sound.
Luckily it was the only one leaning away from the house, so no damage done. The stupid city's policy seriously backfired on this one. I couldn't cut it down until July because it could spread oak wilt if it hits another tree on the way down. If we could have cut it, we could have directed it away from the 2 healthy oak trees it mangled on the way down.

I better be able to cut down these other 6 before they fall, because if they fall, the only thing they'll hit is my house.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

So I guess before buying a house, people need to research the city's policy on cutting down trees now too?

Honestly, the amount of say a local government has in what people can do on their own property is ridiculous.

Just fall them during the next outbreak of strong weather. Blame it on Mother Nature. ;)

Problem solved.

Can you get firewood out of a tree with wilt or would is that deemed yet another risk of spreading it?

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

My motto: if it can burn, it's probably worth burning. ;)

I'm just thinking that oak makes for a nice, long fire from each log. His neighbor, mr. city inspector guy, might think something else.
