Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

I'm just thinking that oak makes for a nice, long fire from each log. His neighbor, mr. city inspector guy, might think something else.

And I'm just saying that living in MN has its perks, due to weather. Oops, it blew down. You want a sample? Oh pooh, I burmed the tree in my nightly campfire. Darn.

I hate this time of year.

Just a matter of time until ESPN elects to once again mortify me via the airwaves.

Good Morning Lodge
Can you get firewood out of a tree with wilt or would is that deemed yet another risk of spreading it?
I think its ok to burn, I mentioned that I was going to use those trees for firewood and the neighbor didn't say anything, so it must be OK.

Brent, how many backyard campfires do you think it will take to burn a 2' diameter mature oak tree? The evidence isn't going anywhere fast. :p

If you want to drop off a bit of wood, I can burn some of it in my fireplace.

Although summer isn't the best time to have fires going indoors. :D

I have 7 huge oak trees that are dead and have to come down. I will have plenty of firewood, but you'll have to pick it up, and cut what you want. :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 135: Rain, rain go away

Last night on the bus I was sitting next to an average looking woman and she was going to leave at the next stop, so I had to get up. I turned to her and said "front or back?" As expected she said "front, thank you."

I was disappointed, but laughed to myself as she thought I meant which exit did she want to use. :D

It's likely ok to burn, it's just that they might not want you to be moving that firewood all over the place as it might be a vector in spreading the wilt. I know here in Michigan they're fussy about us moving firewood around as it can spread the emerald ash borer. And that any wood products made from ash can't be sent out with any bark on it.
