Good Morning Lodge.

4 more hockey games today, I'm hoping they're like the late game yesterday, and not like the earlier ones.

The AA games are usually closer. I expect a good one out of Edina-Blaine, I think those teams are well matched. EP could blow-out Lakeville, but the rest should be good contests.

Good morning Lodge. My kid should face half-empty classrooms today as many of his classmates are going to the tourney (his grades aren't good enough to take off from school, neither are many of the other kids', but they have bad parents ;)). District semi-finals tonight. Hope the refs are half competent.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Just back from Winter Sports awards. The XC coach puts so much more thought into things than the guy who does indoors. Nothing personal about anyone, just flipping thru the certificates and handing them off. Sad. For some of these kids this is the only time they will excel and there is so little acknowledment. Lil is much more pragmatic and derisive. Told me Mum, this isn't XC and as far as he is concerned that was that. Still a proud Mama. 2 letters in 2 seasons as a Frosh. :D

Yay! Nice work, Lil! :D

We went to the UWS-Hamline game last night. Man, these D3 kids out here don't get in to the games at all. The Hamline kids were halfway in to it, and the UWS crowd was pretty put off by it. Hamline won in OT after a horrible, pointless penalty was called on a UWS kid.

Oh, and let's go 'Hounds! ;)

Yeah, they should be better today, AA is very even between the top 7 teams this year. Any of those 7 could beat one of the others. It is going to be fun. I'm pulling for Moorhead, East, Blaine, and EP. Sorry goldy, have to root for Blaine, that's where my property taxes go!

Pfft, like I care. I grew up in Edina so I assume everyone else in the State roots for Edina's opponent in any game, any sport. Just makes it that much sweeter when the Hornets win, like last year. So long as the zebras aren't on the opponent's side, as we see often in youth games, it don't bother me at all.

Remember the quick-talking FedEx guy? The McDonald's Big Mac song (had a contest/promo where they gave out 45s [a form of record albums, kids]) and if you got one that finished the whole song, you won? Ah, those were the days.

two all beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, on a sesame seed bun?

you're pulling for Moorhead? You support Bakunin then!

Morning Lodge. Heading to Sacremento today out of Denver; just doing a day turn. I sent crew scheduling two pizzas yesterday. As Omar Little in The Wire said, "all in the game." :D

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

Good morning Lodge. Thanks for all the well wishes!! Hockey tonight. On a thursday. I'm leaving here a little before 5pm to go for my weekly Thursday cocktail - my friends want to take me for a tasty beverage to celebrate. I arranged to get a ride home so I don't have to worry about driving my car over to the arena, wasting the time that could be spent having a tasty, celebratory beverage. If BU's basketball team has lost, I wouldn't be having these scheduling issues. :)

Where's the poll?

I reserved my first camping spot of the season this morning! If there's no hockey in the summer at least there's camping.

Good morning, all!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #131: Spring is here!

And obviously that was a modified version of an Apocalypse Now quote.

Yeah, but the guy portrayed in the movie actually smelled napalm in the morning.:p

ETA: Crap, just learned the center on my kid's line broke his wrist and is out for the rest of the playoffs. :( Will probably double shift the other two centers and they actually play the breakout better than the injured kid does.
