Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

Afternoon.

Trying to decide where to stay when in Minneapolis for the state fair. Downtown would be ideal as we could then use the bus to the fair and walk around the city pretty easy. I spose we will have to rent a car either way.

The fair is in St. Paul, maybe you should stay there.

Did you get a drivers license yet?

Eh, St. Paul is boring other than the fairgrounds. Actually, I do have my permit. Its just like I am 16 again. Cept with less acne, and social anxiety.

It's been a while. G' Morning tLodge! What will I be doing on Independence day? I chose other. (other is another word your mom). If your mother is no longer with us, I apologize, but it does explain why she wasn't moving.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #13^2: Independence!

Not when sales under quotes it and once the job is over you find out you lost money

THIS! They never include enough licenses, don't sell enough support hours or enough storage space (try telling a customer under contract that they're out of licenses/hours/space and will need to buy more :p). There's always something they miss in the rush to get their commission.

My favorite was that for disaster recovery, we used to promise customers a 24-hour recovery time from tape backup. Since been corrected, but man was that fun when we had a big outage a couple years ago. :D

+1

And without a product or service, sales has nothing to sell....
Oh, they still sell something, something that doesn't work in the application that they're selling into, or something that simply doesn't exist.

Work is doing a team building event, just in the organizational stages of it, and we're doing a Jeapardy! themed event. I'm in charge of getting the theme music, and found that not only are there close to 1,000 uniquely released recordings of the theme song, a Dub Step version is amongst their numbers.

So I am trying to figure out an excuse to go to work late tomorrow morning. I have an interview tomorrow in Minneapolis.

Should be your first question!

Christmas in Paris & New Years in London, thank you very much. :D
Just booked the flights last night.

I have to ask, as you commute from the same area, how long does it take via mass transit? The job is in the warehouse district blocks away from Target Field.

Awesome. That should be a blast

Edit. I have never been to Europe. One day.......

Another awesome weather day at the lake. Currently sitting on the deck. Comfortable temp, nice breeze coming off the lake, beautiful sunset, sounds of the waves hitting shore in the background, campfire crackling and s'mores getting prepared.

It depends upon the bus you choose or if you're going by train - or both. The train to the Warehouse District is going to be about 36-38 minutes from the 28th Ave Station. The buses will differ in times, depending upon traffic. The 477 route (AV transit station, near the movie theater) will take about 30 minutes from downtown to the station. I don't know what the 460 would be like (transit station on Hgwy 13, near 35W) because you're on 35W most of the way and that stretch of road is a real b*tch. The 470 (Pilot Knob & 35E) is about the same as the 477. Lastly, of the routes I know anywhere near you, the 476, which goes to the Palomino Park & Ride (just south of Palomino Rd along Pennock Ave in AV) will save you a just a few minutes over the 477. It used to be a bigger difference, but that was before the Cedar Ave project through AV that just completed. You can check it all out with a better idea of times here: www.mvta.com. It has a trip planner along the right-hand side of the screen.

Thanks! I live right by the Cedervalle Station where they are putting in the outlet mall.

Is that the small station along the Cedar Ave frontage road (not technically a frontage road, but close enough)? If it's the one I'm thinking of, it gets weird service routes.

And this is the first post from my new laptop. The keyboard isn't horrible, but I do miss my ergonomic keyboard. I'm going to setup a docking station for home. Either I'll buy a real one, or I'll figure out something.
