Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Good Morning, Lodge!

I cannot get out of the house because we have a snow drift covering the garage and the front door. Still have not been plowed out.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Looks like the storm is over, maybe 8 inches or so. A far cry from the 12-16 we were supposed to get

We got about six inches here; forecast called for 10. At the very least, the front walk and driveway are cleared out.

Good afternoon, Lodge. It's a beautiful day outside.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

We had a lull and it is back at it. Another 8 or so inches today and then sleet. About 36 inches of snow on the ground right now. YIKES!!

Hokydad has been in the UML recruiting thread ~ like throwing chum in the water. 3 pages of BC guys tweaking. Brother. I might not agree with hd but it is rather ironic someone called him condescending. :p

That looks like what we got here. After all the warnings we got, getting that kind of snowfall is like winning 10 cents in the lottery.

Anybody else a little perplexed by Kristo getting frostbite on his toes from... -11 weather? Uhhhhhh... there's definitely more to the story there... was he wearing sandals or trying to swim by chance?

Sandals is probably the best bet. You'd be surprised at how many people wear them year round up there...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Too lazy to look. Who is Kristo?

And in other news what was I thinking posting in DI in our little team thread that no one ever pays attention to? :o Back to lurking I go.

Danny Kristo... plays for UND and was an integral part of the US Junior team when they won gold.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

The NBC affiliate here in Denver led its six o'clock newscast with a story about some of the cold spots around the state last night. Walden had a reading of minus fifty-eight. That's brisk.;)

I think it was a little closer to 9-10 myself. But with the drifts, it's hard to tell.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Either way, all our branches in your *ers' necks-of-the-woods were closed today, so we got the extra business. Thanks, a-holes.

And I knew it was too good to be true. OFFICIAL status of my new "position" at work is an every other week rotation. DHead Boss can't let go of his chosen one (the previous offsite guy). That being said, CoolBoss flatout said, "watch, this won't work, trucks will be late, deadlines missed." Sure enough I had to go over and assist today to get the truck to the main building ONLY 30 minutes late.

Any which way, at least I have half the position. It's a start. Oh, no pay raise, either. Boo.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Well, all you can do is continue to outperform the other guy. Eventually, management will force a permanent change regardless of what DHead boss thinks - particularly if this impacts the company's bottom line as they have to pay out OT due to lateness.

They're paying OT anyway, since whoever is at offsite comes back to the main building to finish the shift (officially about 1/2 hour more, up to 90 minutes more). And that's what CoolBoss (and I) are thinking/hoping for. CoolBoss mentioned that even though I can't say anything about it, HE can, and I'm guessing he probably will. He can be quite the ahole, just like me. :D
