Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Made chocolate cake with 2 of the 4 kids today. One perk to nannying: getting to bake goodies every week. One downside: despite wearing an apron, I always end up with batter on my clothes.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

Yeah, I have done that too. The problem with this situation is the nature of why I'm supposed to be down there. A whole bunch of our distributor personel, from areas in the world where we would like to expand the line of engines, that I cover, to, is going to be there to be trained in on our specific product. The dates for the training are already set in stone, and I am their contact whenever they need input or approval from engineering. It would be very bad to miss these couple of days.

OK, you're screwed then. Enjoy NM and DVR the F5. At least go out drinking with the distributors.:D

Yep, about all you can do there. Maybe try to find a sports bar in there area that would have the channel that would carry the Final Five games. If you can get there early and find a spot that would have a small tv available the first night, and you get the staff to change the station for you, be sure to tip well for that, on top of what you would already tip for drinks and food. You're stuck with being in the middle of March Madness, so I wouldn't really try to get a big tv.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 129: Still got those Winter Blues...

So if I have an interview with a Sconnie, do I just need to talk about drinking, or should I offer to move the meeting to a bar so we can do some drinking?

And show up bearing gifts. Animal carcasses are generally well received.

If you are interviewing to hire them, you shouldn't (hire them I mean). If you are interviewing to work for them, then just bring a flask with and offer them some. Oh and talk about deer.

Compared to the past forty-eight to seventy-two hours the current temp of twenty-one degrees is positively balmy. Neverthelss I'm having a nice hot lunch of chili and cornbread. Hope everyone's day is going well.:)

Fail! The training should have been at your location and the disty people should have been taken to the F5! Then everybody wins! ;)

Kinda quiet in here. People must be saving their energy for the weekend. Having some chicken pot pie for dinner and watching some of the Avs' game on the tube tonight. Snowing in Denver right now. Couple that with the fact the Avs are playing the Wild--a frequent matchup ofr divisional rivals--and the Pepsi Center shouldn't be more than about two-thirds full, if that, for the game. Have a good night folks. ;)

Chicken pot pie? Sounds yummy. I had fried eggs and Tabasco with leftover roasted turnips, parsnips, and potatoes. :)

Evening, Lodge. Nothing happening tonight, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Bbdl, there's some good gambling in Northern Albuquerque. They do a good match play. Other then that, the town is not that impressive. Santa Fe is much nicer.

I most likely won't be in attendance for the final five, but the F4 is non-negotiable. We're taking a whole week off for it. :D

Which reminds me. Brent, call Quiz when you can

I wish I would be in either of those cities. I'll be in BFE, eastern New Mexico in a tiny ****hole town on the Texas border.

I have the Thu and Fri off for the F5, but highly doubt if I'm going Thu (that's St Pat's Day). Also somehow got July 1 off. That one really surprised me. And obviously I have the whole F4 week off. :D

St. Patties day in St. Paul is better than whatever else you could possibly have planned. Even if you still skip the hockey games.
