Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 124: End of season: Which hockey table will you be at?

Morning Lodge.
Back to work. At least I'll be taking off all of next week to go deer killing.
Afternoon, Lodge. Brent, MNS and Gopher road trip crew: you're **** lucky I like you guys, because I have to figure out a way to be both running an online meeting and drinking a pitcher this Thursday night. :p
FYI, the wireless password at the DT is detroitlions ;)
Jon Campion whistled Michigan Tech for ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR penalty minutes.

For those of you who remember the ****show that was the first game of the original Invasion, that's more PIM than both Tech and NMU had COMBINED.

ETA: Not counting the minutes from the two game misconducts, 57 PIM. JFC.
Watching that game, it wasn't on the refs. Tech played like ****ing dip****s, they weren't bad calls. Example 1: if you skate out of the box, take 2 strides and crosscheck another player in the face, you will get a game misconduct. Example 2: if you mug another player after they scored a goal, and start punching him when he's down on the ice, you will get a game misconduct. ****ing embarrasing.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 124: End of season: Which hockey table will you be at?

The most irritating passenger that I ever had to deal with was the Mormon who tried to convert me on a flight from NYC to Tel Aviv.
At least it was a short flight...

Disclaimer: I know lots of great Mormons.
Anecdote: We had some Mormon friends who grew increasingly anxious to convert us. When our refusal became crystal clear (though very courteous & friendly), they broke off contact with us. Irritating, especially since the kids enjoyed each other so much.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 124: End of season: Which hockey table will you be at?

Back to school. Hockey sucked this weekend, although they didn't play too horribly. Deer cooperated with my friend and one of my dad's friends, both got 4 pointers (2x2) fri pm and sat am, so it was a successful weekend at camp. Hopefully I'll get mine Thanksgiving weekend.
Ok, dumb question, how exactly do you count the points on a buck?

That is sad.

Simply, any point that is more than 2 inches long count. A standard 8 pointer would have a brow tine and 3 other tines on each side.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 124: End of season: Which hockey table will you be at?

Bull****. Why should I have to shell out money for those? Not too mention, you can't sleep with them on.

you can...it's just kind of a pain the *ss. I've pulled it off, but not as often as you might think

One more reason I need to road-trip to Denver. Or better yet, fly to Denver, visit all the breweries from there to Albuquerque, then fly home.

Sloe: did she hack the brewmeister?

visit all the breweries? Better plan on being out here for a year. ;)

And yes, she did. Coincidentally, I think he was the same guy Twitch, Brent, and I had.

On the other hand, I would welcome a family section or a child designated flight. Miss Wiggle and I are going to have to fly to NC for Thanksgiving this year, as I cannot drive 800 miles alone with her. I am totally paranoid that she is going to make a scene, but I really want to spend Thanksgiving with my other 'family'. I just hope that the business traveler who is thinking of complaining that I am nursing her during takeoff and landing remembers that the alternative is a screaming child.

if I'm flying your airplane, I give you full permission to whip your can out during the flight. Hell, come up to the flight deck during it for all I care. ;)

Wait, Quiz hacked him and you, Twitch and Brent *ed him?:eek:

Not that there's anything wrong with that....wait, yeah, there is...

I've done this as well. I also found some ear buds, while they weren't marketed as noise cancelling, they actually did a really good job of it.

FWIW - when done well, the only one who get a full view of anything is Miss Wiggle. All the rest you might see is a little skin.

I'm glad mine wasn't the only mind that took that statement that way. Now, I just wish mine hadn't.

Morning, Lodge. Turning in a job application today - wish me luck. :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 124: End of season: Which hockey table will you be at?

Anyone want to go to Vegas over New Years? :D
Seeing as I have free plane tickets to use, I might be interested. Assuming there is no stupid blackout date.

Of course I don't really care about gambling, so that eliminates one of the big reasons to go.

I don't know how much gambling I'd do either, though I'm sure I'd do some.

I'm looking at dates, and how much it will cost. I'm thinking leave December 30th, and come home on January 2nd. Depending on hotel, it will cost anywhere from $650-$1100. Any recommendations on hotels on the strip in Vegas?

I've always been taught to describe it as total points (both sides combined). However I've met some people who describe it as I did in parentheses, with 2x2 or whatever the case may be. If you're asking what exactly is a "point", bbdl got that one, although I think NY says it only has to be 1 inch if you have atleast 1 point of 3 inches, but I'm not sure without consulting the rules.

$650 between two people for 3 nights wouldn't be bad considering its new years. Even better if it was more people.

No, it was $650 each, but that was a package, hotel and airfare. So still not a bad deal for it being over new years. I can't imagine New Years Eve in Vegas....

edit: talked to my buddy Bacon over lunch, he's 100% in for a New Years trip to vegas. Sounds like it may be happening. Yee haw.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 124: End of season: Which hockey table will you be at?

Ok, Lodgers, I've been looking at hotels and online reviews for a while now. But I know people around here have been to Vegas before, so I want to get some opinions. I'm leaning towards getting a room at the MGM Grand, overall it looks like it gets great reviews and it is right in the middle of the strip. But I also found rooms for cheaper at The Signature @ MGM Grand, which appears to be off Las Vegas BLVD a couple blocks. The rooms look nicer at The Signature. Would it be best to stay at a hotel right on the strip or would it be ok to stay at one a block or 2 away. If it is part of the MGM, is that entire complex connected so we would just walk through the MGM complex to get the couple blocks it would take to get to Las Vegas BLVD? Thanks the for help everyone.

Paying my due respects to what is a great beverage that is going to be taken off the shelves in NY within the next two weeks tonight. Having atleast a couple 4 loko's with a friend. On a Monday. This is awesome. Also going to try Tilt for the first time, since I've heard good things and it shouldn't be taken off the shelves since it doesn't have the caffeine/energy stuff in it, but it's still 24 oz of 12% goodness.

Flight delayed. Not leaving now until 850p. No cruising Toronto Chinatown tonight for goodies. :(
