Bull****. Why should I have to shell out money for those? Not too mention, you can't sleep with them on.

Why would you shell out money,? Santa would:D. I can't sleep with them on, no problem

You don't have to get the huge 80s head set size ones. I have a set of noise cancelling earbuds I bought for the NASCAR races I used to go to that work wonders...plug into your ipod and you're good to go.

Made it back from the Dells. Great weekend. Thank jeebus the roads are clean. I still haven't put the sandbags in the mustang for the season.

Never thought I'd want to either. Until I was given a pair as a gift. They were the QC2 from Bose. Amazing. I've put on a pair of the new QC15s and the difference between the QC2 and the QC15 is pretty big as well. Well worth the money if you fly a lot or simply want to cancel background noise.

Good morning, all! AF came back from a 3-0 deficit and scored four goals in the third to beat Ylae 4-3! The best part was that one of my students from last semester started off the scoring for AF. Very nice to see, especially since as a D-man, most of his points are from assists.

Good morning tLodge!

Didja stop at Tony's while you were in Birch Run? *drool* mmmm Tony's steak sandwiches.

Mornin lodgerinos! Heading back to the doctor tomorrow for a 6 month  post-op check on the shoulder. Getting better, most of the range is back (except some pinching at the top, and behind my back) and my strength is FINALLY starting to come back. Not as strong as I want it to be but at least there is a noticable difference from the last time.
Can't believe it's been six months, good luck today.

Thanks for posting! Glad to see it's not just me. This quote aggravated me:
As a parent, I would be pretty annoyed if I were forced to take an 8 a.m. flight instead of one at noon.”

Oh really? How about being forced to listen to a screaming child? That's not annoying?
I have two comments about this. One, everyone would probably be better off with the child on the noon flight as it is less disruptive to their normal sleep schedule. Which means that they would be less likely to have meltdowns and the parents would be in a better state to deal with them. BUT I see your point, so you have to take a flight at different time? Big deal.

My issue with the childless flights is that I would be pretty irritated if my trip were delayed by more than a day or two in either direction because the only flights available were the 'child free' ones. Especially if I am traveling for an event of some sort where I have to be at the destination by a certain date. I can see that costing parents even more to travel than it does already, perhaps to the point where parents stop flying and it hurts the airlines bottom line.

My second comment is that the most irritating passengers I have dealt with were NOT crying children. One was the drunk guy who wouldn't shut up the whole way from Charlotte to Manchester. The other was the stupid woman in the exit row who managed to DELAY the flight. She answered "no" when the flight attendant asked her if she would be willing to help out in an emergency and wouldn't move to a different seat when the FA noted that she can no longer sit in the exit row due to her negative answer. (I felt so bad for her husband, but was really irritated at her).

On the other hand, I would welcome a family section or a child designated flight. Miss Wiggle and I are going to have to fly to NC for Thanksgiving this year, as I cannot drive 800 miles alone with her. I am totally paranoid that she is going to make a scene, but I really want to spend Thanksgiving with my other 'family'. I just hope that the business traveler who is thinking of complaining that I am nursing her during takeoff and landing remembers that the alternative is a screaming child.

The most irritating passenger that I ever had to deal with was the Mormon who tried to convert me on a flight from NYC to Tel Aviv.

Morning lodge. It's too early. This is the first time since wednesday I've been up before the sun. Not cool.

That must have been interesting (?) I worked for a family that was part of the Salvation Army. The Jehovah Witnesses came to the door once. Most amusing interchange regarding religion I have ever seen. They were firing Bible quotes at each other like bullets.

Another 5-day work week, bleh.

If women want to whip a boob out on my flight, go for it. :D

No child needed.

Good morning, Lodge; dishes are done, so is a load of laundry. Now it's time to go to class...

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 124: End of season: Which hockey table will you be at?

Back to school. Hockey sucked this weekend, although they didn't play too horribly. Deer cooperated with my friend and one of my dad's friends, both got 4 pointers (2x2) fri pm and sat am, so it was a successful weekend at camp. Hopefully I'll get mine Thanksgiving weekend.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 124: End of season: Which hockey table will you be at?

Morning Lodge. Pond is completely ice covered for the first time this season. Won't last the day, but it's a start. Trying to decide if I want to try using a pump to flood the rink with pond water or keep dragging hoses around in the snow. I worry that our pond is too shallow and I'll be pumping weeds and muck instead of water.

Couldn't drive into our office lot from my usual entrance as there was a tree down from the neighboring apartment building. Nice of the apartment maintenance to not touch the tree all weekend.
