Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

Most of the time I only use texting to find out a meeting place at hockey events. Mass-texting is easier than calling a dozen people.

Otherwise it's usually when out on the town or something where it's too loud to talk, and you just want to say something brief. Or send a "* Hockey" message.

I haven't had a land line in years. I would say close to a decade, but for two apts I had to have a landline to buzz people in. My current apt utilizes my cell phone.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

I'd much rather text people than call them. So I am one of the people responsible for creating more texting than calling these days.

Oh and if there is just too much to text or convenient to call, I will call.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

:(

And the procedure I had today still didn't work, but they wanted me to reschedule anyway. I'll reschedule the day after the Lions win the Super Bowl...

Yeah, thats like 3-4 tries now isn't it? :(

What isn't working? They can't get the tube in there?

Maybe I don't want to know actually.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

MNS:  Good luck to your friend!

Shirtless Bob: dammmn. I hope the medical procedures are done with, and your body heals itself ASAP.

LwB: My condolences. :(

Lodge: Good evening. Back from a trip east, an interview this morning (crossing my fingers) and a day of work. Oh, and this poll sucks. :p ;)

What kind of work? And east where?

Another job at the Historical Society, doing some newspaper database work. I think the interview went well, but I'm not holding up too much hope yet, just because I've gotten burned a few times when I thought the job was a shoo-in.

East in New Jersey (feel free to laugh) and in Baltimore - my lady friend lives out in NJ (no, she isn't Snooki), and a group of which I'm a part had a meeting in Baltimore (no, it isn't Al-Anon.) :p

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

We have our department outing tomorrow at Canobie Lake Park. No work. A day at an amusement park. Yay!

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

I work for the head of the Department of Redundancy Department.

I write a great engineering report. It's terse, it's well organized, and it's short while still covering all the major points and all the necessary minor points.

We take a two and a half hour meeting yesterday to review it. Literally, I was told to "f*k off" when I (and others in the room) told the owner that his revisions essentially say the same thing IN FOUR DIFFERENT SECTIONS OF THE REPORT. FOUR.

This is an engineering/consulting company. I mean, it's supposed to be professional. I hate my job.

Ah nice. Getting your hopes up on a job is not the best idea.

Baltimore is nice. At least when I was there as a kid.

Inner Harbor was alright, very commercialized though. Not the place to go if you're looking for local anything, unless you consider the Baltimore Hard Rock Cafe "local". Outside of that area for a distance, there are more than a few bad neighborhoods, though it didn't seem to be strictly bad neighborhoods throughout.

If you get a chance, head over to Fell's Point. (If you're facing the Inner Harbor, it's about 10-15 blocks to the left down the main street.) It's a really fun little area with cute shops (for the lady) and good eats and a few places with good beers (for you, of course).

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

Fell's Point is terrific. There are a bunch of awesome little restaurants in Baltimore. Whenever I go visit my brother we hit a few. As long as you're not dumb you'll avoid the ... diversity. ;)

Go to Chaps Pit Beef in Baltimore. Feel free to enjoy the surrounding scenery that you'll never catch on any of the TV shows the place appears on. Next door to Chaps is a strip club and across the highway is an adult bookstore and check cashing place. Aside from that, however, the food is AWESOME.

Good Morning, MEUSA! :)
Good Morning, Mookie! :)

Good Morning to the rest of tLodge! :)

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 119: Legands of the Foopers

Good Morning, Lodge!

Thank you all, again, for the well wishes. The funeral is planned for September 11th in Beach, ND. I don't know why it has to be so far out, but it is a really long story and a lot of bs about it. To sum it up...my aunt is an idiot and no one cares about her cats and how she couldn't find a house sitter for them.

Yes, yes a thousand times yes. Amazing place. Come for the food. Stay for the boobs and gunshot wounds!

Good Morning Lodge

Had the house inspection last night. Paid $270 and got a 26 page report on the house, not that bad of a deal actually. The guy didn't find anything major, only some small things that should be done, mostly stuff that needs to be done to prevent future larger expenses. Overall, it was very good, and the guy thought I got a hell of a deal. Next is getting financing finalized, and at this point that isn't in my hands, since I've done all I can at this point.
