Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

We haven't had blt night for dinner in some time.

Went to bolocco for lunch today and had the Cajun steak ( with LOTS of green jalepeno Tabasco)

Afternoon lodge. BLT's for lunch!!! :D

Grilled cheese, tomato and bacon for me - it's become my go-to sandwich at Snuffy's Malt Shop.

Afternoon, Lodge. It's hotter than the devil's balls out here, so it was a great day to do some hot riveting this morning. :o (I actually prefer doing hot, physical work in the heat to just sitting around in the heat.)

Which Snuffy's? Probably not the one that is 2 blocks from my house.

CC to the Techies: driving in this town is effing ridiculous. Every Drivers Ed instructor in the Copper Country should be sacked, immediately.
One example from my driving around town today: I was tailgated down Cemetery Road. It's not so much that, but the fact that I myself was already going far faster than I should have been. Just to be nice, I slowed down to the more appropriate 5 over ;). I also took my sweet time at the stop sign by the Heights, only to watch the woman driving said tailgating van flip me off, not look, then barrel through the intersection without even a hint of hesitation.
I'm not even going to go in to detail about the lack of knowledge on proper 4 way stops, not blocking an entire street when parallel parking, and the complete lack of signaling.

I'm so frustrated with the content management system I could ****.

The way to handle tailgaters: slam on the brakes as hard as you can for a split second and watch their hearts leap into their throats as your vehicle pitches forward. (And if they hit you, they're at fault - hello insurance money!)

The Asian/foreign student drivers are the worst. Especially where they congregate there in the lower Heights.

Yeah, doing that work with hot iron would heat you up enough so that when you stepped away from it, it would actually feel cooler. Just remember to hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate.

Ditties and kitties for the UP - yet another tornado watch.

That will be tomorrow's dinner. Tonight was pork chops with an apricot glaze, baked potatoes, and a broccoli-cauliflower mix with parmesan cheese.

Evening, Lodge. The upper endo revealed nothing, however, they're going to have to retry the colonoscopy at a later date. Like it's my fault the prep didn't work...

That's good. Did they let you keep a video of the endo? It's a pretty cool procedure to have done.

Bummer on having to repeat the colo. Yuck.

Checking in from Grand Forks, where surprisingly, it was a perfect day to work outside, except for about an hour in the afternoon when it rained. Wasn't hot or very humid, overcast, with a little breeze, so we got a bunch of work done working outside on the engine that we're going to use for testing.

Since the hotel doesn't get FSN, sitting in the room, listening to the Twins game on the radio, surfing the boards and reading a book. :)

Hey Sioux people, are there public tours of REA? The co-worker technician that came with me up here is a hockey fan, but hasn't seen REA, so we want to go get a tour or something, if possible.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

So, I need a general opinion of the politeness of something.

Person A: Why didn't you clean the bathrooms like you were supposed to?
Person B: Sorry, I was at work all day.
Person A: Well why didn't you do them last night?
Person B: I went home, because my cat died..
Person C: Did you kill it?
Person B: No, the vet put it to sleep this morning.
Person D: (very snobbily) I thought you said it died last night.
Person B: ...
Person D: Don't f*ing get snippy at me. You were the one who said it died last night. I don't feel like dealing with b*tches today.

Needless to say, I need a drink, and wouldn't mind if the Wicked Witch of the East fell victim to this "tornado".

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

Jon?

(202):

He's warming up to shark week, by only eating fish and drinking vodka, and all the time he keeps yelling "death to the seals!"

And it is looking *ing awesome and scary outside right now. Time to head to the patio!

Nevermind. It's looking like Noah's Ark should be nearby.
