Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 117: It's The Dog Days of Summer

It is a great feeling; I look forward to getting out of bed these days.

As for the bread, today I just used 2 cups AP and one cup oats along with a cup of dried cranberries folded in; turned out just fine. My parents said they wanted a loaf of white bread and I decided to oblige them. Next loaf I make for myself will be whole wheat, and I also think I'll be making granola bars and a flatbread for myself tomorrow as well.
Have you made the recipe with just whole wheat flour yet? If you haven't, just be warned, it's a very dense loaf of bread. I liked it, but a 1/8 slice was filling.

Morning. Day off from school today, but I'm up to get more stuff packed. tcbg is coming down tonight to pick up my dresser and more boxes. :o I wish I was just moved already.

Whenever you're in trouble with family, it's always your full first name + middle name. If you're REALLY in trouble, it is said in the "quiet yell" voice. It's science.

Uh-uh. I knew I was in the deepest **** when I heard my first-middle from my dad at about 120 decibels from anyplace in the house. The louder the volume, the deeper the trouble.

.

Using my bread machine I make a loaf with 2 cups whole wheat, 2 cups bread flour, 1 cup oats and 1/3 cup flax seeds. Toasted with peanut butter, you won't be hungry anytime soon:)

I concur. We heard counting to 10 in German (my Dad was getting the German guy down the street to teach him German) and knew the doodoo was going to hit the fan.

Redheads are hot.

So I take it you didn't say, "there's plenty of dick to go 'round."

he'd be lying.

*sigh* I always was Molly Jo when I was little.

morning Lodge. Busy day here in Denver. Going for a long bike ride, then we're checking out a wedding venue this afternoon in the foothills. Follow that up with some hockey scorekeeping and softball.

Good morning Lodge.

Morning Lodge!

despite popular belief, I feel fine this morning
Actually, I'm thinking Sunday.....maybe Monday.......you will be completely worthless, given the weekend you have planned.
I'll be in Grand Forks Monday morning, so I'll fit right in with the locals.
Says the man who once drank the DT out of Jack Daniels.
Hey! that was an accomplishment!
I have a cousin Maggie. Unless she's in trouble, then it's Margaret Mary. Which happens a lot when we're around recently.
Is she a bad, bad girl that needs to punished?
disagree

You are an evil person.

I don't. :( Thankfully I took today off so I've been able to sleep in this morning. I should jump in the shower and get dressed. Maybe I'll feel more awake.

What you should really do is pop over to the NHL thread and check out the photos and slideshows from Henrik Zetterberg's wedding. Not quite as cute as the real Henrik, but pretty cute nonetheless (and some hot friends). :)

Good morning tLodge! I must have been more tired than I thought last night. I slept almost 12 hours last night. (Almost as I was up 3 or 4 times in that stretch)

We were wondering this...
Sorry, I thought I had told everyone. :( We're naming her for her two grandmothers, Margaret Lucy. I've always like the name Maggie so it worked out well. :)

Kiawah, South Carolina, for a week.
Sounds like fun. The one problem with the NC/SC beaches is that they are really hot. We went up to Wrightsville last summer and could only stay on the beach until about 1pm.

Surprisingly they are okay with that. One of my co-workers, who is a pastor's wife, her daughter's best friend is gay and he is her best girlfriend ever. The same thing goes with my gay guy friends. Best girlfriends ever!
That is surprising, but cool.

Funny, I don't think my Mom ever used my full name. Dad would use it randomly I think just to irk my mom.

The race teams I have worked for have all used my full name during the race. We always seemed to have someone with a similar name and on the headset Jerry and Kerrie don't sound that much different.

Are you guys going to Mom's tomorrow? Also, we're still working on trying to pick up the hutch next Saturday. Mr. Hit is kind of burnt out at the moment, so he is having a hard time thinking that far ahead.

Mmm.... that sounds delicious.

Mom didn't with me, either. Dad does, but not always in anger. I think that's an Italian thing, though, as our aunt (dad's sister) tends to refer to her kids by both names.

Yes, I believe that is on our Crazy Saturday Schedule this weekend. Next weekend's Crazy Saturday Schedule is even crazier (involving more cars and more people from more disparate locations), so we should probably talk about it tomorrow.

I think every week from now until the middle/end of August (I seem to remember something at the end of August, but I can't quite recall) features a Crazy Saturday Schedule. I can't wait until Labor Day.
