Just got off the phone with my Mum who might drive me straight over the edge. What grandmother tries amazingly hard and repetitively to convince someone just how bad their kid is at sports? I shake my head. No problem with a blindly proud grandparent here........

Oh, you didn't!! I hope my post didn't come off as snarky towards you!! I'm impressed. I stay out of that diet and excercise thread because I'm so embarrassed that I'm so lazy. It was really nice out this morning and when I woke up I said to myself "I should get up now and go for a walk." And then fell back asleep for another 1/2 hour. Heh. I have to get motivated and do something.

And now I've had 5 of the mini Milky Ways. Don't judge!!! They're sitting in a bowl on my coffee table. Taunting me!

So my kid has not evidenced any inclination to having a girl friend so far (he's only in 6th grade, but many kids in his class were boyfriend-girlfriend starting in 2nd ). But now there seems to be a little going on with one girl - they were seeking each other out and waving to each other at the musical Saturday, her with a big grin, and we've heard a few other comments from him about her. And in some silly prediction game the kids play one of the other girls had them getting married.

Ready mookie? Her name - Mei Lee. She's really cute too.

Hope my kid doesn't grow up to be like mookie. Hell, he's a Steeler and Penguin fan already!

Did I post here about my Emmy experience last year, and how it was bad, at least for me, because security at the Nokia Theater was over the top and prevented me from seeing any celebs? I was thinking that I wouldn't go this year. I never complained about it back then. Anyway, they sent out the order form for this year's show really early, and I have two friends from work that are joining me. So, I contacted the LASEC and let them know I'll be there again. And then nicely explained how disappointed I was at what happened. I stated that I know this has nothing to do with them, that I pay for the experience they provide and that the Nokia Theater prevented me from experiencing that, well, experience. Got a return email from them apologizing profusely for what happened and appreciated that I knew it was nothing they could have done anything about, etc. Got another email from them today confirming receipt of my order form and to also tell me that my contact had a) forwarded my email to the president of LASEC and b) the president forwarded it to the Emmy folks. Ha! I douby anything will come of it but it's nice to know they didn't ignore my complaints.

I figure if the Academy and the Nokia Theater want to prevent people like me from being there, then don't open up access for me to get a ticket.
