Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

Way to go! :D

No judgment here either. Eating a Milky Way bar sounds like a great idea right now and I'm actually jealous of you.

Evening, Lodge. Had mushroom parmesan for dinner tonight; portobello mushrooms smothered in cheese and butter and marinara sauce. Delicious.

Also, spoke with my mom, and she's due to come home April 30, thank Parise!
Good to hear about your mom!

Tonight's dinner was brown rice, white kidney beans and broccoli with a balsamic dressing. I'm trying to eat less meat. We'll see how this works out. I did have ice cream for dessert. Mmm... chocolate.

Fell asleep this afternoon and woke up around 8. Walking still wears me out. I'm sleeping 12-14 hours a day, and I'm still tired.

Oh, and Mom is about to have her ankle healed, so she had to break her wrist instead. :p Calamity Jane has nothing on her.

Quiet in here tonight.
Just getting ready for bed. Psych test in the morning.

Sorry to hear about your mom, Priceless. :(

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

I want to know what is going on with nursing homes lately. My husband's grandma had a stroke over a week ago and has now been placed into a nursing home. She fell out of the bed in the middle of the night and broke her wrist and the home did not call a family member until 12 hours later. What the hell is wrong with these workers?!

To Priceless, thebrain, walrus, St. Clown, and to anyone else that is going thru a similar situation... I know what you are going through and I give you my best wishes.

Have a good evening/night Lodge.

I just realized that my Blackberry hasn't been charged since Friday night, and it still has 1/2 battery life. uutf!

ha, didn't realize that I hadn't plugged my phone into this charger since Saturday until this afternoon when I needed it and it was Dead. thankfully I have a car charger for it and that brought it back to life.

Dinner tonight for me was at my cousin's house, Grilled steak, baked potatoes and green beans. All excellent, just that with her kids there, 6 years old and 8 months, got that wonder reminder of why one should always use birth control. Not that I really need to worry about it with my current love life of lack of one, but it put the thought there again.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge #109: It's the Offseason, now what?

If you haven't had a deep-fried one, get a few of those too. Mmm fattening and terribly tasty (especially the dark chocolate Milky Ways.)

I found the twinkie to be the superior choice among the offerings. Though my stomach hurt the rest of the night after that bad boy. (I couldn't even eat breakfast!)

Morning, Lodge. Gotta love waking up to a sub call on a day you're already subbing.

Morning lodge

Effing state trooper got on the freeway right in front of me. I was hoping someone wouldn't notice and pass him, thus taking him off the road. Nope. 70 MPH all the way to my exit. It's not like I'm trying to break the speed of sound, but I drive a nice straight stretch on my way to work and 75-80 MPH is "the flow". At least I had the balls to stay with him. At one point I looked in my rear view and all the other vehicles were about a half mile behind us, all jammed up.

Good Morning Lodge.
You aren't really going to the Capitol City. I didn't see you yesterday. :D
Well Ralph, you see, the city is pretty big, you could be on one side and Wally on the other, and you might not be able to see him. :p

I usually stick to just the twinkies now, though the candy bars came out a year before twinkies, so the first year of twinkies I had a snickers and twinkie. That was too much sweet deep fried stuff. Now I just end up getting a twinkie and focus the rest of my time on cheese curds and other savory deep fried stuff, oh, and the big fat bacon.

Morning Lodge.

Sheesh, rash of mom issues for the Lodge. Hope everyone's get better, or adjusted to their situation soon. :(

Got behind a minivan with Iowa plates on the entrance ramp to the highway this AM. At the flashing yellow metering light he....stopped. Umm, pal, it's never going to turn green. Fortunately there was room to get around him.

Morning!

As far as I know my mom is OK? But I have a cyst. So that's kinda gross. :(
