Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

I'm looking around for hockey tickets, not for any game in particular, just looking for good deals. I found Wild tickets for $29 each, which is a great price, so I looked at AA State Championship Game tickets on the same site, the cheapest they had were $79. I AM going to that game, unfortunately, I'll probably have to pay a bunch to do it...

edit: cheapest final 5 championship game tickets are $93 on this site! apparently the only tickets that are cheap here are Wild tickets!

Did ticket brokers buy up all the single game tickets? If they didn't, the event doesn't sell out ahead of time and anyone can get tickets at face value via the usual ticketmaster sodomy process.

Failing that, any ticket can be had on the street for less than face value for a game not involving Minnesota.

Hi kids, power outages due to heavy, wet snow are dumb.
So are power outages caused by running two tv's, an xbox 360, a microwave, and two computers simultaneously. Oh wait, that was just the circuit breaker.

I think it is just brokers trying to take advantage of people that don't realize that there will be tickets for sale for less than face just before game time. Actually that is probably what I'll do for the state tourney tickets, I should be able to find something more reasonable than that price, as long as it isn't Minnetonka-Edina or something like that.

So are single game tickets sold out then? Did brokers seriously buy them all up? With a fairly strong likelihood of MN either not being in the tournament or not being in it past the play-in game, I don't see how they can be profitable on this.

It looks like single game tickets aren't released to ticketrapist until March 8th. So I'm guessing that the single game tickets will still be available, as usual.

They are also starting to sell tickets for the 6AA/2AA section championship games @Target Center on Feb. 27th. I'm surprised these are on ticketrapist, last year we had to drive to Edina High School to buy them.

Oh yeah that's right - I could never remember when the singles go on sale - figured it was late February. I guess the 8th makes a little more sense given the start time of the WCHA playoffs (March 12th - so at least by the 8th everybody knows their team's seed).

Why are these at Target Center? Either put them at Mariucci or the X. TC is a total dump and should never be used for hockey.

Not at Mariucci because the U scheduled a figure skating thing that night. No idea why it's not at the X though...

Mariucci is where they usually are at, this year they have some stupid synchronized skating competition there that night, and at the X the state wresting tournament is taking place. The only other place big enough for those games is the Target Center, even though it is horrible for hockey.

The reason for Mariucci's existence is hockey. Do the people booking the ice time there not realize this? I guess it's good to see they're opting to have gay pride on ice in there that night instead - since this season, nobody is likely to tell the difference between that and the Gopher games.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

Aluminum grain scoop shovels are HORRIBLE on concrete that isn't perfectly smooth. Spoken from experience. This is actually one time where I would say that you're better off going with the plastic version. The plastic grain shovels work well for snow, but you can't really break up ice with them.

Well, the aluminum grain scoops are crummy for just about everything short of just moving grain around in a bin. Even on rubber mat stall floors they'll start having the edge curl up with use. Even worse on concrete. The good heavy plastic ones will just wear down till they're about nothing, or you just happen to drive over them. :o

Originally Minnesota was supposed to host Wisconsin in the fall and go to Wisconsin in March. The Minnesota athletic department switched the weekends to avoid a "conflict" with football (quotes because I'm sure they easily could've done afternoon football game, night hockey game), but apparently never told the rink managers.

Re: Rep Retirement Lodge 103: The Greatest Rep... to this point.

Guitar Hero (and Rock Hero, and all those Hero games) are abortions. "I can play guitar!!! I rock on expert level death metal!!" No, you can't, and hooray for you.

And I have good hand-eye coordination, thankyouverymuch. :p
My brain went to a bad place...

Is it common practice to keep used condoms?

I know its Alabama, but still.
Heh. When I was a kid we had trouble with the septic tank and my Dad had to open it up and they foung hundreds of condoms (we were in a 2 family). My mother told the story that they couldn't believe how many were in there. SO many it was causing what ever the problem it had.
