Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

Good morning. Had fun last night, my friend / neighbor had a reading (first novel published in September) at Common Good books in St. Paul. Went to John's reading migrated to mutual friend's condo, he lives in the Blair Arcade Building where the bookstore is, and ended up sipping Jameson & BSing for a few hours.

'Morning, Lodge. There's a hockey bag in my living room. Heads are going to start rolling soon...

I know for my 7&7 fishbowls, they added 7up for "coloring." And they were about 1/2 the price of the Ambo. Even the next morning (okay, afternoon) when I ordered an Irish coffee, I had to specify to not make it "Tech Strong." ;)

You have good taste

Yes going with regulars has it's benefits ;) like getting a fishbowl even though they're "out", I can get a bartender in the Dog to wash a glass for me, just to make one drink....it's called loyalty

Always, I have never had a complaint about any drink I've ordered there....and I've ordered a lot....

Yup, just like with a Whiskey Sour, the Squirt is added at the end to make it not so whiskey colored haha

Strong drinks and cheap prices, with an average fishbowl you get 3-4 shots of liquor, and it's $4, so with a $1 tip, you're still doing better than any bar I can think of

Almost 100% true, couple of the newer bartenders (nods towards the Tundra Wookie) still have some things to learn

But yes, the Dog is a great place to drink, I know for Minnesota weekend, I "bought" Biddco a drink, but when you're a "fairly" (trying not to sound like the alcoholic I'm becoming) regular customer, and the bartender knows you're "buying" a drink for someone, it seems more often than not it doesn't get marked on the tab....

Like tonight, I had 3 fishbowls and 4 jager bombs, from the total, I could see I was only charged for 2 fishbowls and 3 jager bombs....obviously the bartender gets a decent tip cause I tip for the drinks they made me, not the final total at the end of the slip

wow, that was a long post

night Lodge, first time getting sleep in over 42 hours

Yeah, my Soco/Diets or Rum/Diets basically just had enough soda to turn them a light brown. Basically, it felt like I was drinking a glass of straight alcohol, but in a good way.
They don't, however, let you try and claim that someone owes you a drink and to put it on their tab. Not that I know this from trying or anything...:o

Color me unimpresed when the bartender takes out a shot glass to measure. Some of the weakest drinks I've ever had until the bartender figured out I'd met her through bbdl's sister this summer.

.
I think the only reason the guy who made mine had one out was for decoration. It certainly wasn't for measuring. He filled it, but kept pouring from the bottle while he emptied the glass, and repeated this about 4 times. It was pretty great.

A half hour?? Bah!!! hardly enough time to even get relaxed. And it was probably in a chair too. :p :p

True. However, the massages were offered in the office during working hours and it would be difficult to get a "real massage" as I am sure HR would frown on that. ;) The employees thought it was awesome and that is all that counts. :)

Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

SB, We did our Christmas cards over the weekend during some of the few "down" moments we had on our ski outing. We usually send a picture of us with our card, but this year opted to send cards with handwritten notes inside. Dinner time here at Chez Shot. Tomato-basil red sauce, spicy sausage and bow tie pasta for dinner is now beiing served. Have a good night.:)
And I'm still not done with Christmas cards. Last night's dinner was meatloaf with yukon gold potatoes and a salad. Tonight's dinner is venison steak, sauteed kale (in bacon fat), and brown rice.

Close enough to call it winter.
Indeed. It was 13 when I went for my run this morning.

Morning, Lodge. Already finished a load of dishes, my Christmas cards are just about done, and I think I'm going to bake something this afternoon.

Not all real massages involve rubbing *and* tugging, you know. ;)

Morning, Lodge.

We aren't done either. We have a master list of friends to whom we send cards each Christmas. Every year we seem to get a card or two from people not on our list. In the days leading up to Christmas we scramble to send cards to those people from whom we unepectedly receive a card. If we receive a late Christmas card sometimes the card we send in return turns out to be more of a Happy New Year card rather than a Merry Christmas card. It's expensive to send Christmas catrds, but my wife and I enjoy sending and receiving them.

The reason they do the shot glass is because that's how they're taught and there's a camera on the one spot where they all make the drinks, when they make a drink, they have to use the shot glass or they get in trouble......I don't know who the unlucky S.O.B. that watches all that footage is but...I figure they probably just pick a random time to watch it and make sure they're doing it the way they're suppose too

Haha, hockey bags, did Flashy come home and just drop everything?

Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

Done for the semester... now it's a waiting game to find out if I'm sitting for my USCG license exams Jan 3-7. I think I'm good to go, but who knows. Hopefully headed back to God's Country tomorrow eveningish, as I really don't want to stay here until Saturday.

Morning, Lodge.

What next? Are you going to tell me that there is no Santa Claus? Or there is no pot of gold at the end of a rainbow? Or Tech is in the midst of forming a dynasty? Say it aint so! :p

Ugh, my lappy is on its last legs. I'm without computer. This should be interesting. On the plus side, still got the iPhone!

Re: Rep Lodge 126: Merry ****ing Festivus!!!!

Evening, Lodge. Made some banana-nut muffins this afternoon and venison steaks tonight for dinner.
