If you're going to get bacon on your burger, the you should stop and enjoy the bacon. Not to mention that eating it while driving would make it easier for your burger to drip onto you as well.


Got all of my Christmas shopping done today. Was just going to get dad a gift card from Cabela's, but after some poking around there, I decided on something else there.

So, the more I think about this SLU@MTU weekend in Jan, the more I kind of want to do it. I'll probably make my final decision before the new year and may need to discuss some details with those up that way regarding available couches to crash on if possible. I figure I might as well take an 'epic roadtrip' as a college student before I graduate, right?

Last final tomorrow morning around 8, then done for the semester. Am I really only 1 semester away from graduating? Yikes. They really weren't kidding in high school when they said college would fly by.

I 'm not so sure i like you anymore! I haven't started yet.

Yep they think there might be 6-10 inches of snow on Sunday. And in other news I made a huge vat of beef stew, a massive lasagne, went to the market, went to Lil's track meet, found out that we are having an XC Yankee swap at my house on Sunday in the middle of the party, and now am exhausted This cold is really wiping me out. :mad:

Well I did lie a little bit. I went into the office today. Every day until end of the year we are doing something special for the employees. Today it was a half hour massage. Not to shabby for half an hour and being fully dressed. Tomorrow, I have to go in for a bit as we are delivering chamber bucks to each employee (gift cards that can be spent at local business)

That would wipe out mere mortals without a cold:). The weather guessers are waxing poetic about the Sunday storm up here also. Its 5 days out, they don't have a clue

SB, We did our Christmas cards over the weekend during some of the few "down" moments we had on our ski outing. We usually send a picture of us with our card, but this year opted to send cards with handwritten notes inside. Dinner time here at Chez Shot. Tomato-basil red sauce, spicy sausage and bow tie pasta for dinner is now beiing served. Have a good night.:)

Do it. It would be even more epic if you arrived on Thursday evening and enjoyed pitchers at The Downtowner. Houghton has some of my favorite bars and restaurants. Except the KBC. That place is overrated.

Though it is good if you want a more laid-back place to start the night, and it's cheap, even by Houghton standards.

I have to say, though, I think the Dog has become my favorite Houghton drinking establishment.

That wouldn't be able to happen. Last class ends at 3pm, and I can't make a 1200 mile drive in 5 hours. I'd likely leave here around midnight and drive it straight through with a possible nap in there.

I have to admit that I was impressed by the Dog. Granted, I was with a couple regulars, so there were some drinking benefits I was afforded, but still. The KBC is still a great laid-back/starter bar, for sure. The early closing time helps that fact, also.

Not a fan of their beer. Not a beer nerd so that doesn't help.

I know for my 7&7 fishbowls, they added 7up for "coloring." And they were about 1/2 the price of the Ambo. Even the next morning (okay, afternoon) when I ordered an Irish coffee, I had to specify to not make it "Tech Strong." ;)

Is it just the strong drinks that makes people go there or what? It seems like strong incentive.
