Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Good morning, Lodge!

Books and cigars on my Christmas list, although I don't need either.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Good morning. It's a sunshine-filled, wintry, twenty-five degree day in my neighborhood.:)

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

That's what I thought. Way to make it easy for whomever found/stole it to keep making up fake IDs in your name, forever...

What a lovely day to fly to Grand Forks, ND. There are NO hotels/motels near the GF International Airport. How is that an international airport - other than the fact you can see Canada from the tower?

Tomorrow morning I drive to New Rockford, ND - a flyspeck on the map. Then after work on site I drive to the Fargo airport to fly home. Isn't business travel exciting?

it's an international airport based on the fact that there's customs on the field. It has nothing to do with commercial departures.

And try doing business travel for a living. You really begin to hate your life.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Morning, Lodge. Checking in from work. Have to submit my application to Penn State today. :o Haven't gotten around to it for the last week and it's due today.
Am thinking about taking an EMT class locally to get more experience. I'd even be certified by the time the FF rolled around in case we need one (not that I expect to be in any shape to do any sort of EMT things, except giving tcbg mouth to mouth :p ). Have also started to sock away some $$ for the FF. At the end of this month I'll be able to buy plane tickets and from then on it's just saving enough to cover the hotel (I think one of us has to actually pay for it and then get money back from the others) and booze money, of course. Was thinking of bailing, but it's hard to pass up the opportunity AND it's unlikely (hopefully) that I'd be able to make the next few as I hope to be in school.

someone in the group will have to volunteer to be sober, and while I plan on being sober as I'll be in the swing of 70.3 training, I refuse to take care of any of you *kers. :p

That being said, my bartender friend at Eagle Street said we're all good for free drinks. I warned her that some of you know how to drink.

This is too good not to share. I saw this item in our purchasing database this morning. I literally laughed out loud in my cubicle.

It doesn't surprise me that you get a $750 rebate for a Cleveland Steamer in California. :p

Good Morning, Lodge! I get my new car today!

Nice! :D

Hey, at least you'll have hockey to cheer for (even as it kills ten hockey programs singlehandedly) :o

Morning, Lodge. I noticed that I have a potential conflict the weekend of the F4 - getting THAT dealt with ASAP, so I'll have April 7-9 free and can work on that conflicting activity the weekend after.

Sage advice to give her. Glad I've kept my booze training up throughout the year. :D

Nice job with the offseason workouts, training camp for FF drinking will start sometime in early March, first round of cuts is tentatively scheduled for the Sunday after Final 5.

What about martinis in martini glasses??

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Submitted the first of another set of school applications (to PSU) today. I am less than enthusiastic this time around and significantly less hopeful. :( :o

Good luck! :)

Good morning, Lodge!

Books and cigars on my Christmas list, although I don't need either.

I ended up telling the family if they insist on buying me stuff, just get me something, anything, for the house. There isn't much that I couldn't use when it comes to the house. I'm hoping for a new ****ter for the new bathroom.

You keep your birth certificate in your wallet?
A hardcover copy of the Fannie Farmer cookbook is on my list, plus some kitchen utensils are on my list. I end up telling people that if they get me anything, make sure it's something I can use.

And as for my wallet, I kept so many things in there and I lost track.

Morning!

Informational interview today to move to a different department (yay!). I am dying to get out of the group I am in now.
Good luck!

Afternoon Lodge.
So by deduction, anyone born or living in Calumet is a red coat and should be shot? :D

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

I really warned her about you. :)

I have a set of plastic ones with light-up stems that I plan to bring with me. If this bar, like Bernie Federko's in St. Louis, chooses to only use plastic cups, I'm bringing my own and they're just gonna have to use them.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

To be fair, quite a few people don't consider Menominee, Iron, Dickinson, and Gogebic Counties to be 100% Michigan. Maybe they sent some cops from Esky? ;)

Not sure how useful Escanaba Public Safety would be. Likely it was Menominee City and the MSP from Stevenson just serving as backup.

Its November. I'd imagine they sent the most powerful law enforcement agency in the UP during November. The DNR.

they have martini glasses; but this would be far more comical. Some little firey Boston woman comes into the bar and demands they use her martini glasses. Yeah, I'm on board with this. :)

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Ello Lodge. Not sure if you all follow the news but today in Marinette (the town where I work) a student took 23 other students and a teacher hostage at the high school... after about 5 hours, all were released. The gunman shot himself but that's all they know now. There were also 2 unrelated armed robberies in the county today too.
Definitely freaked me out. The ratio of watching the TV to actually waiting on tables at Applebee's in Marinette tonight was pretty unbelieveable.

I'll do you one better, going on about 12 miles south of here. Some of you may have seen this on the news. Some guy told police that he dropped his three sons off with some woman he met on the internet, with the understanding that she would get them back to their mother. The kids never showed up. He later admitted that he made up the story about the woman. He attempted suicide. The kids are still missing. I've got a bad feeling that I know how this one ends...

This is the one

i found it interesting that you clear US customs INSIDE pearson when i returned two weeks ago. are there other airports like that outside the US??

(i've always enjoyed filling out the little card in the airplane...:()
