Oh she got a job? or are you letting her stay for free... sucker.
She hasn't moved in yet. No sucker here, she was told that she had better have a way to pay rent if she plans on moving in. She was even given the option of taking the shovel snow, wash dishes, wash clothes, paint, tile and sheetrock plan as a form of payment.

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

Are you taking that short trip east on Friday?

Planning on it, we'll see if I don't jump off the bridge during the week...

Turns out that I didn't "qualify." I remembered being able to miss 3 questions on a 15 question test, but I guess the limit is 2... major buzz kill there.

Good afternoon Lodge.

Furnace is out and the repairman has been here since noon $$$$$$$$$$$.:(

In other news, BSU is the best 3-8-1 team in D1. ;)

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

I just had the final review for the document that I've been working on for about the last year (meaning I put it off for 11 months and spent the last 4 weeks rushing to get it done, so it is only 4 months late), other engineers in my group, my supervisor and our chief engineer all think that the document is great and that I did an excellent job. This is a relief, since I'm guessing they expected it to be excellent after how long I took to complete it. Now I only have some minor changes to make and it should be ready to distribute to customers. :)

Howdy kids. Comcast had a power outage last night and I couldn't get on the internet. Tried calling to see what the issue was, got a fast busy signal. Woke up this morning to see that it made the news. I was annoyed as I had planned to do a little online shopping last night.
I just saw a clip that said it was DC and Boston areas only. Ha! Maybe DC to Boston as our Comcast internet here in southern CT went AWOL around 7-ish last night.

Evening Lodge. Got my license and birth certificate replaced; after this, I need to sew my wallet to my hand so I never lose it again. $38 to get my enhanced license replaced, $15 for my birth certificate, $5 for my student ID... even my library card comes with a replacement charge. Oy.

Oh well. At least I had brinner tonight. :)

Hey SB, do you still have the same birth date: February 30th 19__? Sorry to hear you lost your wallet as it's always a pain having to replace personal papers, et cetera.

It's almost dinner time. Chicken tortilla soup with all the trimmings this evening. Have a good night. You too LODGE.;)

Eh, it's alright. I have a small jar of rendered bacon fat in my fridge that tells me everything is going to be just fine.

Morning Lodge.
Back after my long, 9 day weekend of deer killing and eating too much. Got a big doe, but the weather sucked, deer didn't want to move in that ****ty freezing rain that we had most of the early part of the season.

I was sick of Christmas season before it started, I might shoot someone by the time December is over. I hate Christmas season. I told my entire family on thanksgiving not to buy me anything because I really didn't want to buy them anything, and I was told that wasn't happening. FML.

There have been years where I've flat out told people before that if they tried to give me a gift that I'd refuse it. One person didn't think I was serious, then found out different. On the whole, I'm not a fan of giving gifts. Nobody ever knows what someone else really wants. Women drop hints that no man ever gets. Guys just always say "nothing," and usually mean it. It's too frustrating, and it's a big reason why my brothers and I all stopped doing it a long time ago.

Well, this year they have an out. Since you've got the house, an easy gift is a gift card for the local Lowe's/Home Depot/nearby large hardware/home improvement-type store. There's always something you're going to need for the house. I'd expect that to be the tone of your gifts this year. It's not personal, but it is practical.

My dad got his start farming on my great-grandfather's farm. When my great-grandfather was pushing (and then passing) 90, Dad would go to the store and get him a ham for Christmas. He told my great-grandfather, "look, I know you have everything you need, and you don't want anything, but I know you still eat everyday, so I know you could use this. Here you go. Merry Christmas."

I ended up telling the family if they insist on buying me stuff, just get me something, anything, for the house. There isn't much that I couldn't use when it comes to the house. I'm hoping for a new ****ter for the new bathroom.

You keep your birth certificate in your wallet?

Re: Rep Lodge 125: The Thanksgiving Dinner Version: Gimme Some More...

I started this a couple years ago with my family. Told them to buy a poor kid a toy, or donate to a charity. I was really souring on the whole dam season because of the commercialism involved, and finally said screw it, I'm not playing that game anymore. I don't buy presents, I won't accept presents. Period.

My family, in their annual futile attempt to get me to change my mind, asked if they could get or make me anything this year. My response? "Ok, fine. Make sure there's an extra radish on my plate this year." :D

The staff was taking down the goalposts, preparing for fans that were going to rush the field for the celebration. These things are bolted into place, the nuts or bolt heads, I could tell, look like they're a good two inches. They had issues getting one part unbolted, and couldn't get the goal post down to the ground. They had to set it upright again, and then finally take it down.
They're really not that expensive, other than they might have been worried about the turf I guess, They are fairly easy to replace. Sometimes you just need a good old fashion goalpost teardown.

It just took me 1 hour and 10 minutes to place an order for 1 book and one DVD on Borders.com. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! I was too cheap to pass up an 18$ savings but boy am I aggravated. WHat is the likelihood I will use Borders.com again- less than my finding a million bucks in my bank account.

ANd in cool news. I got my hair chopped and am sending a big hank to Locks of Love- they take the hair and make wigs out of it for kids with Cancer and other medical illnesses. My hair is now chin length. I feel kinda bald.

Hell, I made some the other day. It wasn't pre-mixed in a can, but heavy cream + whiskey + sugar made some tasty stuff. :D

*thumbs up* Awesome! (Not the bald part - the Locks of Love part)
