Quinnipiac Bobcats 2021-22 - Let's get this party started!

Thanks Steve! I thought Gate gave a good effort yesterday. You guys had a great 2nd half and deserved to be there.

No secret thread... just not many of us posting regularly here. Sometimes feels like you're talking to yourself. :-)

Game was fun to watch. Decent QU crowd. LP was overrun by Clarkson fans. I didn’t see a single Harvard logo all day. I’m expecting a pretty pro QU crowd tonight. I was hoping the late game went into a few overtimes, but I guess we’ll just have to rely on Coach B’s talents to shine. Let’s go get some more hardware!

Man. That one hurts. QU dominated that game, but if we're being honest they didn't have anywhere near enough solid scoring chances. Harvard's goalie never had any idea where the puck was -- Amazing that he never leaked one.

It felt like you guys were on the power play all night. But the characterization of Gibson isn't fair. He played lights out and deserves praise. I did not expect the Crimson to win tonight especially going up against a team loaded with seniors and grad transfers. But that's why they play the game and we've had games where we outshot the opposition by a wide margin and lost. It happens.

Gibson played very well, but he had a good look at a lot of the shots. There were a few scrambles where he didn’t see the puck but QU couldn’t get a stick on it and a few screens and tips where QU just missed the net. He does seem to up his game against QU. Harvard has some snipers in that lineup. They could do some damage in the tourney.

Unless he was injured, I’m not sure how Smilanic isn’t in that lineup tonight. I hope he’s ok for the NCAAs. I didn’t see him in the building but I wasn’t really walking around much.

Absolutely. Congrats to your team. Hell of a win. But I stand by what I said. He was good in that he stopped everything, but half his saves seemed somewhat lucky. He was looking behind him and didn't know where the puck was a lot. Again, he got it done and deserves kudos for that -- he outplayed Yaniv Perets, which we haven't said a lot this season.

Saw on Twitter it was an injury but no specifics...

I like Wyatt’s comment on hating to lose, learning what it feels like to lose, Rand laughing at the comment and like many Q fans…..be nice to have another shot at the big prize!

To be good, you have to have some luck. And yes, Mitch had some of that last night. In addition to outshooting us by a wide margin, you had tremendous puck possession time but didn't seem to do anything with it. Like you were searching for the perfect shot on goal? Just an observation.

Where do you guys think you will go for the Regionals? I'm guessing a #1 or #2 seed in Worcester or Albany?

We're a 2 seed and will likely be in Albany since the ECAC is sponsoring that regional. If the committee moves things for attendance purposes we could get placed in Allentown. Worcester is a very long shot at best.

Last night was a clear reminder of the past 10 years, at least to me. Dominating possession and looking to the naked eye as “dominating. But when we need the offense to come through, we seemingly just keep throwing shots at the logo on the goalies chest and we give up a couple grade A opportunities and can’t win the hardware.

Having Smilinac out didn’t help, but I would never say we lost cause of that. The need for more high end offensive talent is still apparent and we haven’t even played a top West team in forever. Looks like we’ll be a 2 seed against Notre Dame or St Cloud. Speaking of the last 10 years, we’ve been in this position before and regrouped well. Hoping for the same this year.

Congrats to Harvard

Power play... that's been our Achilles heal. Drew a penalty early in OT and couldn't capitalize. Not to mention the 3 we wasted in regulation. Every one of our losses this season could have had better outcomes with a PPG.

Not saying our offense doesn't need help, but the dismal PP has cost us. The effort is there, the talent is there... just seems we cant put them together when needed.

Yes, QU was very wasteful on the offensive end. All that possession, all those shots, but not nearly enough quality chances.

I hope Ty Smilanic plays tomorrow….not hopeful because if he couldn’t go Saturday what does 6 days do for your recovery from that kind of UNKNOWN injury. I hate how they keep it hush hush. Just tell the fans why he’s out if he’s out. Harvard kills a little hung over against Minn State. They are in survival mode dug in around their own net. Blocked 27 shots Saturday and 49 got through…no puck possession

Good showing by Harvard against Minn St, had a shot at an open net but Coronato couldn’t get the the puck settled to back hand it. I thought the Western programs were light years better than the Eastern programs this year?!?! ;)

Tale of two games. It was men against boys for almost two periods.

Repulsive period. Defense didn’t make it out of the locker room. Rands got to be losing his mind of them in the locker room right now. Unbelievable to see that lack of effort

I’ve never seen them so dominated since North Dakota title game….absolutely disgusting….what the fudge happened in that locker room. They looked shocked….never seen such a disparity between how one team played one period and the next….Rand better rip them a new one
