Quinnipiac Bobcats 2021-22 - Let's get this party started!

I give Brind'Amour a pass because he's a beast at the dot. Singling out a couple doesn't help as we're not getting balanced scoring from anywhere. For a team that's been able to roll 4 lines all season, their ability to bury the puck over the past 2 or 3 weekends has been abysmal. Haider was the difference last night but he was never really tested. It was another clinic on how to make a goalie look good. Losing 3-1 when giving up only 11 shots is painful no matter how you cut it. And I haven't even mentioned our ice cold power play...

I realize it's only our 3rd loss and came at the hands of a very good Clarkson team, but it's the timing of it and the recent trend that concerns me the most. At this point in the season we need to be playing our best hockey to put ourselves in the best post-season position possible.

2 goals on the season is mind boggling…especially playing with Chau on the 4th line and matching up with other teams 3/4 line…...he lost the most important face off of the season…had all the momentum and that face off loss lead to the Empty netter….I felt so confident with the time left that grade A chances would develop with 6 skaters…all contingent upon winning that face off.

Their D is one of the Best in the country. Perhaps it’s time to let it slide a bit in exchange for some extra chances. Are they trying too hard to hang a zero. I’m a HUGE fan of Perets, but maybe he needs a break for a game or two to let the team not focus on getting him another SO, if they are.

They have a tough road ahead with both Harvard(Road) and Cornell(Home). Clarkson has Cornell/Colgate on the road and I think Yale/brown at home. I think Q needs 4 of 5 Ws to get the Cleary. I think Clarkson may run the table. They are playing well and, at the right time.

Clarkson has won ten straight, Colgate has won six straight. It was Clarkson 2-1 at Cheel earlier this year in a game Gate could have won. In Hamilton friday night.

Did you watch the game, or are you just basing that opinion from the box score?

I watched it on ESPN+, in some ways better than being there. I like the instant replays of goals, now I have to go look at the box score. At my age, stranger things have happened.

Just an interesting take, to hear someone suggest a team could have won a game they never even had a lead in lol. Anyways, looking forward to the last couple weeks here. Colgate is a great hockey team. QU is phenomenal. Looking forward to Placid.

Nice to see some offense, but still no PPG to be found. Shutout #14 for the team, #4 for St Cyr. Hopefully they saved some for Harvard tomorrow night.

This team dominates puck possession 5x5 and looks out of sync on most PP. Maybe they shouldn’t put out a PP unit, and just skate their regular lines. It couldn’t get any worse.

Ty got lucky at the end of the game. That fight could’ve had him sitting tonight. Gloves off and 2&10 was a gift.

The only good thing about tonight: Clarkson lost.

Now it's time to #BeatYale.

The PP is just horrendous. I did notice a couple D (Metsa/Less) on the ice, not sure if that has been common during PP. just not getting space or good shot attempts. Looking for the one timer or the little tic tac toe in front of the net.

Offense seems to be feast or famine in general. No doubt there are some good net minders in the ECAC, but there are nights QU makes them look great. Lighting Stevenson up for 5, the night before letting Gibson hang a zero is baffling. Credit to Perets for keeping us in it all night with some big saves.

It’s crunch time, need to win the close ones. 2 wins for the Cleary! Let’s Go Bobcats!

The 1st PP unit has been 4 forwards and 1 D (Metsa). Last night Less made it 3F 2D likely to counter Harvard's speed.

Gibson was shaky most of the game and we couldnt capitalize. The post by Freidman didn't help. Had we got one early things might have been different.

The bottom line is they need to figure it out quick. Not going to win many games if you can't score.

Gibson was shaky? What game were you watching? You guys are very good but how about a little humility?

He gave up some juicy rebounds in the first half of the game that we couldn't capitalize on. Not to mention our PP woes.

Has nothing to do with humility. Harvard was beatable last night and we didn't take care of business. It's not like you outplayed us all night.

Gibson was outstanding on Saturday. Give the guy credit. He had a 38 save shutout. How about we look at the fact that Ty Smilanic has 1 goal in his last 12 games.

Yale Beaten!

Certainly not the best game they'll play this season, but they gave Yale absolutely nothing. I think Perets had to make one really good save all night. The defense and goaltending is phenomenal. Obviously would like to see more offense, but credit to Yale for a really good defensive performance on their end -- they were blocking shots all over the ice and really made it hard for us.

Also it seems to now be a storyline; this team crushes opponents in the third period. Whatever Coach B is doing works, because we are clearly more ready for the final 20 than our opponents are. That's the kind of thing that could really come in handy come tournament time.

Either the broadcast didn't mic the crowd up well, or the crowd was absolutely dead tonight. Virtually no chants from the student section, they did the wave at one point. The No. 5 team in the country, and the barn is way too quiet.

Finally, really want to thank QU Athletics for getting these games on TV. ESPN+ is great, but being on SNY for the biggest game of the regular season is even better, and they deserve plaudits for that. That said, I really miss Schweizer and Coppola. There's a certain professionalism missing from the guys they have now.

The crowd was electric. The students were loud but as usual unorganized. It was deafening in there during the 5 on 3 PK. And surprisingly most of the kids stayed until the final horn.

Good, glad to hear that. I could hear the crowd during the 5-on-3, but definitely didn't seem that electric or deafening. That was a hell of a kill, and the goal right afterwards ended the game.
