Quinnipiac Bobcats 2021-22 - Let's get this party started!

The student section just doesn't seem to be as electric, a problem that seems to worsen a bit each year. It's more of a social event for many of them. When they do become engaged the place is rocking.

Yeah, it is strange - seems hit and miss. The NDaok game was rocking. The two Bongiovanni goals in the 3rd against ASU, the place exploded. RPI always seems to bring some heat, so maybe it will be amped up tonight.

Is this thing on?

Its been four years, and four years too long. Mark and Jonathan, I appreciate your continued posting and especially the game updates Jonathan on Twitter.

I have not been able to watch much this year, but I have been following closely. Does this not feel like the exact recipe that’s taken us far? An elite defense with a great goalie. Obviously, especially after this weekend, the great question remains, is the offense going to get in the way?

Side tangent, I said “great goalie.” Which Hartzell and Garteig were for those FF runs. But holy s*** Perets is doing something unworldly right now. Help me out, cause I haven’t been watching, he’s he THAT good or is the defense THAT good? Or are they both THAT good. It’s still early, but Ryan Millers stats look awful when you put Perets stats against them. Interested for your thoughts on this Jonathan and Mark.

Hope everyone is well. Will try to check in more often as we get to the home stretch here. I have certain dates in April circled…would be like old times to get the gang all back under the same roof Maybe even a Fred Davenport sighting!

Same tonight. Big crowd but not much Juice. Credit to a few students who tried to fire things up. I think when the team is buzzing early, the crowd feeds of them as much as they do off the crowd.

Another so so effort for the team, but once again, Yanni DONUTS Carries the team on his back.

Congrats to Rand on game #1000 behind the bench! Quite an accomplishment.

Congrats to the team for setting the NCAA single season shutout record at 13. Hopefully they have a few more in them this season.

Congrats on another gutsy win that shouldn't have been so close. I'm sorry, but they absolutely need to find more offense if they're going to make any noise in the post season. Another 0-fer on the PP and many missed opportunites to bury loose pucks. Marshall was good for RPI but we had him rattled and couldn't capitalize. This has to be a concern this late in the season.

Yes, our defense is solid and Perets was lights out this weekend, but we can't continue to rely on that alone. Tonight could have easily been 4 or 5 to nothing.

Quick turnaround with Brown coming in on Tuesday.

After the last 2 weekends I'd say Perets is certainly a great goalie having a great year. He's been battle tested for sure and stood tall. Sure, the D is solid in front of him, but he's so calm and always seems to be in the right position. He bailed us out numerous times this weekend.

He deserves a little more offense in front of him to take some of the burden off his shoulders but has proven he can handle the pressure.

Thirteen shutouts, can't tell you how impressed I am. Mark, will you be going to Lake Placid ?

Placid becoming "old hat" to you guys ? I haven't been there in seven years. That used to be my "barometer" of whether we had a good season or not.

I think it's been 7 for me as well. Never old hat because it's never easy and you never know when you'll make it again.

In my case I decided at the start of the season that I wouldn't go to any road games (mainly due to COVID). Possibly will do the NCAA's and hopefully Boston. However I am dealing with some health issues with mom (92 yrs old) that may prevent any travel.

Quinnipiac beats St. Lawrence 3-1. Win #25. With Clarkson soundly beating Princeton, it appears the Bobcats will maintain its 4 point lead over the Golden Knights with still a game in hand.

Big game tomorrow night in Potsdam!

It’s funny. I was actually very disappointed when they let that goal in. I think Saint Lawrence played a real good game as well. Hoping the team shows up and plays “their” game tonight.

We held Clarkson to 3 shots in the last 2 periods and still lost. We absolutely need to find some offense. Defense and goaltending can only do so much. You can't win if you can't score.

The lack of production from key players is concerning….the following players need to STEP UP….Brindamour and Van Ness

I give Brind'Amour a pass because he's a beast at the dot. Singling out a couple doesn't help as we're not getting balanced scoring from anywhere. For a team that's been able to roll 4 lines all season, their ability to bury the puck over the past 2 or 3 weekends has been abysmal. Haider was the difference last night but he was never really tested. It was another clinic on how to make a goalie look good. Losing 3-1 when giving up only 11 shots is painful no matter how you cut it. And I haven't even mentioned our ice cold power play...

I realize it's only our 3rd loss and came at the hands of a very good Clarkson team, but it's the timing of it and the recent trend that concerns me the most. At this point in the season we need to be playing our best hockey to put ourselves in the best post-season position possible.

The offense is a big concern and that of the power play. Against good teams you need a power play. They have been able to get away with it due to the shit teams they have been playing this year.
