Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

I think 4 points are possible this weekend but if we lose tonight...I'd start to worry about falling into a desperation mode in Potsdam which could be disastrous. I hope Clarkie plays as well as he did against the Gate.

Any brave souls making the trip? Crits?

Other than that, I hope Rand gets over whatever problem he has with Ben Ketchum and gives him some action this weekend. Oakes and Coughlin really don't do anything for me and at the very least Ketchum defines what a 4th line/checking line forward should do, play hard and throw the body. But that being said, all season long I've been saying that Rand needs to give his boys some consistency and keep some lines together. So, I wouldn't have a problem if he sent out the same line combos as Saturday night. There is something to be said for a chemistry component of playing with the same people on a nightly basis.

Go Q!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Tough weekend ahead. It's critical that we take home at least 2 points. SLU is playing extremely well so tonight's game will be a battle. Clarkson has had a lot of trouble this year but are usually tough at home. With the way the standings are we need to beat the Saints to gain any ground.

Hopefully Clarke will remain solid and give us a chance to get some offense going. It won't be easy but it's certainly doable.

Go Q!

Hey Eagle, I don't necessarily put a lot of stock in what the feature writers for various conferences on this site say, but the ECAC writer is predicting another craptastic weekend for your Bob Katz. With that in mind, I hope you're well stocked with the adult beverage of your choice, ya know, just in case you feel the need to purge the memory of the entire potential fiasco from your mind.

Looking forward to the Denver-Minnesota series in Magness this weekend. The Gophers usually have a strong contingent of fans in the Denver area that attend the games. The arena should be louder than usual. Have a good weekend and good luck to your squad in NY state. :)

hahaha, and that beverage would be a coke :P

for confidence sake, we need 4 points this weekend, but i'm thinking we'll come away with 2 or 3. i think tonight will be a very good game (fingers crossed) but I don't think we will pull a win. Tomorrow should be a win.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

2 shutouts in a row for Clark. Congratulations-this should help his confidence down the stretch. Scoring is back where it should be, finally. Tomorrow 5-1 Q

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Woohoo!!! We needed that! 5-0 Q over SLU.

The Saints were flat all night. Clark wasn't really tested but made a few key saves, and gets the shutout!

If this doesn't give us momentum, I don't know what will.

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

For those of you listening at home, that was our second ECAC sweep of the season. Let's go for #3 tomorrow! ;)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Looks like yet another streak, this one of the positive variety. Congratulations, the Dutch will have their hands full next weekend in the Electric City. ;)

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

Way to go Q! What a huge win! SLU has been playing well and to go into Appleton and to win handily, that says something. Let's keep it up and go get them Knights tomorrow night,

Sorry Mike. I know this one hurt. I assure you it had nothing to do with the wearing of a gold Quinnipiac t-shirt. ;)

Way to go Clarkie! Talk to yall tomorrow.

I hope nobody is taking tonights game lightly. Clarkson is still a dangerous team and are coming off a win last night. The boys are still going to need their A game against the Knights.

They should be able to ride some momentum from Canton over to Potsdam. Clarke needs another stellar performance and our offense needs to keep shooting. Two points this weekend (and the right 2) are good... four will be great!

Remember, it's a 4:00 start. I hope to be home in time to listen/watch.

Go Q!

Yeah this one really stuck in my craw.....it's one thing to lose when you play well and can tip your hat to the opponent and say nice job. Last night my Saints didn't even show up. I can't explain or figure out how at this juncture of the season they could throw in such a stinker. Other than getting blown out in a meaningless game at Maine......this was arguably the worst Saint loss of the year in one of the most important games as we are in the stretch run.

All year long I felt we were way "over-achieving". I hope it hasn't caught up with us.

Five goals? In one game? By the Bob Katz? DRUG TEST! DRUG TEST! The results of last night's game should be vacated immediately.

Same old, same old here in Denver last night. Marc Cheverie kept the team in the game through forty minutes and then the Tyler Ruegsegger-Rhett Rakhshani-Joe Colborne kicked in with three third period goals to lead DU to a 3-1 win over Minnesota.

With a win in tonight's game Denver would compile a combined 8-0 regular season record against North Dakota and Minnesota. Yes, perhaps the Fighting Sioux and Golden Gophers don't have their strongest teams this year, nevertheless, a combined 8-0 record against those two schools would be an impressive accomplishment. I'm looking forward to tonight's game.

Eagle, good luck to your boys this afternoon in Potsdam. :)

Apparently no one was listening to you Mark. Quinny 8 Power Plays and only one goal to 0-1 power play for Clarkson. The difference in the game.

They never do. :(

That plus a weak performance by Clarke in net. Two absolutely soft goals. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt on the empty netter!

The good thing is we did what is needed on the road: split. More importantly, we won the right game since SLU is just ahead of us. While I would have loved to come home from the north country with 4 points, I'll take the 2 and hope for the best next week in the capital district.

Yeah I agree...two points is huge up in North Country. But you cant help but be a little let down. Clarkson has turned it on lately but we are the better team. For as good as Clarke looked in his 150+ shutout minutes, that's how bad he looked yesterday. Give it to the Knights they outplayed the Bobcats in every facet especially the penalty kill.

Oh well, an equally as tough weekend awaits, RPI and Union on senior night. Talk to yall crazy Bobcats during the week.

Go Q!

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

I concur. A split was what we all expected and we got it with the team we didn't think we would. It stinks that we had such a bad showing against Clarkson, but it is what it is...

Re: Quinnipiac Bobcats 09-10: Part II

QU needs to get rid of Pecknold, the man is an expert at wasting talent. Whenever something goes wrong or there is a loss, he calls his players out in public by name and embarrasses them. I would not play hard for the guy either if I was treated the way he treats his players.
