PrimeLink Shootout

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

it is telling that a Western team has never won a game in the Primelink out of the 6 opportunities that they have had (3 semis and 3 consis).

It is a great event, and I know it gets a lot of attention.

Maybe it just tells us that the East is better. :D

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

I think you could have gotten a flight from Milwaukee to Burlington for around $300 each, especially if you booked the flight well in advance. If you figure a 30 in the party, you end up with about 9 - 10K in transportation charges.

I think it may have been cost neutral vs. the bus and intermediate hotels.

Don't forget it is also Thanksgiving Weekend which probably makes flying a bigger hassle and more expensive. I'm guessing another weekend they could negotiate a lower rate with an airline, but not turkey weekend

Flying on Thanksgiving day itself is usually considerably cheaper than flying on the day before. Holiday travelers want to be "there" before the turkey dinner is served. Planes tend to be empty on the day. Getting back is a different issue.

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

They could invite Adrian - they are used to the travel

I do not believe they will be asked to the Prime link.

However,my feeling is that they will get an invite east soemtime in the next year or so (and no, I do not have any specific information on that).

Hard to miss, isn't it?;)

Wife and I rode the Harley's on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Smokey Mountains in May/June. That is when it started...

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

Wanted to say it was nice meeting WillieC at Kreitzberg this past weekend. Great guy who I had the pleasure of sitting next to both games. Thanks for the monopod, my wrist appreciates it! :D

Again nice to meet a USCHO easterner!

You must have met Crosbynu63 too? Not thinking, I should have gone over and introduced myself as well (although I was busy selling merchandise between periods...)

I'm sure you at least saw me. First game I was in a grey suit with blue undershirt.

For Saturday's game you couldn't have missed me, I had on a blue UW-Stout sweatshirt with my hood up carrying around multiple bags of equipment.

I was seated next to the statistician and live stats computer, opposite side from the Primelink webcast.

Not sure who I met, though a few Norwich fans did come up and talk hockey with me during intermissions, though none stated any USCHO usernames. They had been following my tweets, so I at least know they read USCHO. Not sure who it was, it was two older gentleman.

If Crosby is the rink manager and works in athletics/SID (sounds familiar), then yes I did!

I though that was you, but I didn't approach you to greet you. I was the one plattsburgh fan sitting in the section in front of where you were set up. I was pretty much right behind the Norwich/Middlebury bench, a few rows back
Definitely enjoyed being surrounded by Norwich fans during that shootout :p

That would have been me:)

Yes, I do remember you walking by several times Saturday. Other posters that I know were there (besides the ones already mentioned):
NUPROF
dwb
Tim the Flagman might have been across from you to the left of the announcing table
hawk
I think several other Plattsburgh posters were there as well.

I guess we shoulda tried to set up a meet and greet.

I did see "hawk" and just for a second I thought I was going to get my steak, ya right.

Wait... Crosby was the Rink manager? You wouldn't happen to have been at the 50/50 table during the 2nd intermission, would you? If so, I bought 50/50 tickets from you saturday :p I just remember seeing a name tag that said "Rink Manager."
