PrimeLink Shootout

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

If I am not mistaken, St.Johns will be making a return trip to the PrimeLink tourny next season in Plattsburgh.

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

Stout is built to create chaos. They are big and tough. That doesn't work against the top end teams in the east which are built with hockey smarts and speed. I think this was a case of two teams with different styles and it really showed who plays their style better.

Well said, mnhockey27...that exactly my take on the game from the pressbox.

In the program, I saw one reference to St. Johns (back page) and one to St. Thomas (second page) as next years' fourth team.

I can see inviting a Western team, even one with a St. name, but how about St. Norbert or Scholastica instead of a Saint we've already seen?

This is the same problem St. Norbert had in the late 90s and early 00s. Until they started bringing in defensemen that resembled forwards in their skating and puck handling skills they couldn't compete with the Eastern skating teams. SNC still doesn't play an Eastern style of hockey, but they are able to play a hybrid that has been more effective in recent years.

Stout will have to make a choice. Do they want to spend the time and effort to morph into a national contender through player recruitment and a change style of play, or do they want to physically pound on people in the West region.

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

Hard to get a read on UW-Stout feeling's wise. The guys know we need a win in the worst way. I look forward to seeing how we respond. Middlebury is still a great team and a national powerhouse, a win today would still be some redemption for our shellacking yesterday.

Norwich is indeed a great team, can't say I know anything about their tender after our dismal shot count. They are going to be good the next few years with these young underclassmen.

Puck drops at 4 p.m. ET

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

Please, please let's get some decent camera work for today's championship game!!! I would guesstimate that the puck, or the player with the puck, was visible on screen about half the time yesterday. If it's too tough to follow the play close up, then please just back up and show the whole ice sheet!

I don't know which is worse ............. the camerwork ............. or the announcers. If these are amateurs it's okay. If they're professionals, they stink.

All the camera work and announcing is being done by Plattsburgh students. They are giving up their Thanksgiving vacation to broadcast.......

from the Primelink website: "Once again in 2009, PrimeLink partners with the Center for Communication and Journalism (CCJ) at SUNY Plattsburgh to broadcast LIVE all four games straight from the Kreitzberg Ice Arena located at Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. Students from CCJ volunteer to produce the live webcast to be broadcast over PrimeLink equipment and services. The students are all part of PSTV, the SUNY Plattsburgh television station."

Hey Puck Voice or Lee VT- Are we going to hear George call the game via radio in the rink tonight? We sure missed him last night. Hope everything is fixed so we can hear the Cadet scorers as they crush P-burgh tonight. Can't wait!:D

As amateurs (students) they are making a good effort .................. well, except for the fact the broadcast has blacked out after the first period intermission. Or am I the only one blacked out?

Your nose looks pretty brown there.

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

so anyone else watching the webcast get most of the commercials in well, except for middlebury's which skips in both video and audio?

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

Pretty pathetic showing by this "Stout" team. They get pasted 9-1 by a team who couldn't even get by UMass-Boston in the ECAC East Quarters last season, and then today they get put out of their misery by a team with a lame duck coach. You say eastern bias, I say the west needs a little blue pill. Pathetic showing indeed.

What's next? Buffalo Bungals beat Adrian? Salem is already 20 minutes away from taking out THE GREATEST TEAM EVER!1!1!1!1! Your beloved St. Norbert Norbies.

No wonder Bill Beaney still has a job, with teams like this out there clogging up spots as the token western rep in the NCAA FF, Midd won all those titles by default. Their toughest challenge was getting out of The Interlock as was proven this weekend.

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

If it's PSU students doing the camera work, I don't get it. I have seen the local PSU broadcasts of Cardinal home games, and the camera work is great! So what's up?

I'm off now to primelinkshootout.com.... with fingers crossed.

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

It would help if Buffalo was playing Adrian...

Of course it would, but as we all know, everyone is afraid to play Adrian because they are the western/eastern hybrid mix. Kind of like the red headed step child of D3 hockey.

I am looking forward to seeing how they handle Oswego. I think any better showing than Stout this weekend would be considered a success.

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

Hate to beat a dead horse here but...GRRR!!! 30 seconds into the game, a goal is scored, and those of us watching on the Internet saw NOTHING because the camera was trailing the play. So frustrating. I'll probably turn of the computer and listed to Ducky.
