PrimeLink Shootout

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

Hi,

My name is Frank Koniszewski and I am the Primelink engineer ultimately responsible for the quality of the streaming video product. In regards to your comment about the quality, I do have a question;

Which game(s) did you watch and was the quality consistently poor?

The feedback I have received so far, across the board, has been positive EXCEPT for the last game. The video freezing and being jittery was solely my failure for not allocating enough bandwidth. I had not expected nor believed we would increase the number of concurrent connections over last years ShootOut by 100%.

I do apologize for the fact that the most important part of the tournament, The "ShootOut" itself, had the worst broadcast quality. The bandwidth issue has since been resolved.

Primelink is streaming the Plattsburgh State vs. Potsdam tonight. Please check it out at www.Primelink1.com

I would appreciate any feedback you might have regarding how this game goes.

Regards,
Frank

Re: PrimeLink Shootout

Frank,

Awesome! It was freezing really in every game. I think some of it was bandwidth and some of it was own personal link up. When I used my older laptop for the first Midd/PSU it would freeze a lot...I then switched to a newer PC and worked fine. But I wasn't complaining...

"I never thought about it before, but there was much more snow in their crease after the third period and overtime, and that worked to our disadvantage in the shootout," Emery joked.

Best Team Trophy
After watching the tape of the PrimeLink, I felt we were the best team that weekend even though we didn't win the tournament," Emery said
I find it interesting how Coach Emery and his fan base seem to be so concerned with the best team on the ice concept. Is the goalie considered part of the team? :confused: Since Plattsburgh will be hosting the Primelink next year, my recommendation would be a new trophy be unveiled with this trophy going to the best team. Coach Emery will be the judge. The trophy will not be handed out at the normal trophy presentation but one week later. This will give Coach Emery time to review the four game tapes and consult with his fan base before a winner is chosen.
