POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

I wouldn't wait for the media to do that because 1) they're useless and 2) they're afraid of challenging him. However, now every time a company outsources jobs people are going to look to Trump to stop it. If he can, great. If he can't (more likely) you're going to have a lot of disappointed people. With this Carrier deal, everybody is now going to expect the same thing in their neck of the woods.

Oh he will stop it...by giving them BS tax incentives and free money. Corporate Welfare will be on the rise while actual people go hungry. Then the jobs will leave a year later anyways.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

I'm of a different mind. Too many pundidiots try to read tea leaves based on who he's appointing. Are the a Pence person or a Breitbart person or whatever. None of this matters. Trump is going to do whatever pops into his head with little input from the people who he considers one step up from the waitstaff. He doesn't care what Paul Ryan, Mike Pence, his DOD pick, his Commerce pick, his Treasury pick, or anybody else thinks. Basically they're all just noisy furniture. Trump is enjoying the coverage of his cabinet choices far more than he'll enjoy or use any input he gets from them.

So, I see his administration playing out as such. 1) He'll keep his promise to expand and fence in the existing border wall, and claim somehow that Mexico is paying for it via taxes Mexican tourists pay when they visit the US or some other such nonsense. 2) He'll claim he's started deporting criminal illegals when in fact he'll just continue current policy. 3) He'll blow the deficit wide open with a big infrastructure program while passing across the board tax cuts because that's what Republicans do when they have a chance. 4) He'll screw Paul Ryan on Medicare privatization once someone (maybe Ivanka) whispers in his ear that its his core supporters who will be taking it in the shorts.

Trump is absolutely unencumbered by campaign promises. He'll just tell you he didn't say that even if you have a recording to the contrary and move on. He owes GOP leaders in Congress absolutely nothing, which is what they'll be getting any time their interests diverge from his. He'll just as soon make deals with Dems as Republicans as long as the end result gets him good press. Its going to be a wild and ultimately disappointing ride for all involved.

The interesting thing will be whether the people who voted for him (that ignored all the red flags, the racism and the lies) will continue to do so when it is them taking it in the shorts...

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

I've heard different numbers. Up to 1,300 according to some.

From a previous link:

A deal was struck and the company was able to save more than 700 jobs that were expected to leave for Mexico. Trump's 1,100 jobs in total saved includes the 300+ corporate jobs that weren't going to be leaving the country in the first place.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Sen Heidi Heitkamp (D - ND) was seen entering ... "The Elevator" ... < bah-buh-BAAA!!! > ... at Trump Tower* today.

Unconfirmed reports say that the guy in the hat, with the guitar, riding up with her is also being evaluated for a Cabinet level job. Video in link below.

My guess is that Heidi (that's how she campaigns, so I'm comfortable) is up for Energy Secretary ... and to remove another D from the Senate surely to be replaced by Rep Kevin Cramer (R - ND). Cramer would surely be replaced by a state representative from the Grafton area (Campbell) who has already announced plans to run either against Heidi or for Cramer's seat if Cramer runs against Heitkamp in 2018.

*Why does saying "Trump Tower" start to take on the feel of the Baxter Building, or Stark Tower, or 117A Bleecker Street? I guess all have strange, questionably human creatures in them with powers we're not exactly sure how they achieved.

She's supposedly in big trouble in her re-election in 2018. I don't think a lot of folks would fault her much if she did it; it gives her an out and her state is only getting redder.

Ya get what you deserve lady.

This whole Carrier thing smells like a set-up. A pre-packaged crisis in his running mate's home state that he miraculously was able to solve with a wave of his hand. It reminds me of the hostages being released on Reagan's inauguration day kind of schtick.

It's terrible that the banksters did crap like this to her and many thousands of others.

But....................................suckers get what they voted for.

She won somehow last time so I believe that only a bit. She's a D that would be an R in about 45 other states.

They'll blame it on the Democrats. They get all their news from inside the fart bubble.

I think you're misreading Trump just a bit. He'll listen to his lackeys; the only thing that matters to his ego is that he's the one making the final decision. That's why there is a lot of in-fighting and jockeying within his circle. Everyone knows whoever talks to him last has a good shot at getting their idea through, because he's just too lazy or just doesn't care enough to look at it critically.

$64,000 per each employee. Or $6,400 over ten years. That what each of those employees were valued at with the tax breaks and incentives given to Carrier to "save" these jobs. For the record, I quoted save because only 800 jobs are staying. The remaining 300 are R&D jobs that were never moving in the first place.

Congratulations; the State of Indiana unintentionally added 1,100 state employees overnight.

You also have to take into account that United Technologies, which owns Carrier, also more than likely just moved to the head of the line on some very lucrative government contracts as part of the negotiation. That's an awful lot of giveaways for a guy that promised that when he sat down with them, he'd make them "pay a **** tax". We got fleeced.

This is going to be a royal courtier administration, and typically that means broad and deep corruption, high volatility, and high inefficiency based on lack of coherent policy.

So MI's AG is filing a lawsuit to stop the recount. After claiming emails!, he says it will stop a frivolous process that otherwise would circumvent the will of the voters. To that Stein say 'she wants to check to see if there's any tampering'.

Why is it the left can't speak clearly? She should say what she means...that is, she's sure MI Republicans have committed widespread voter fraud and the public needs to know. The right went to war years ago.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

Dan Rather has been a fantastic Twitter and Facebook follow for the last few weeks. From his Facebook:

I have said before that there are no training wheels to becoming president, and we may have seen the effects of that today.
Reports are ricocheting across the news media and the diplomatic world that Donald Trump has become the first United States President or President-elect to speak directly with the leader of Taiwan in decades.
There is no bigger touchstone to the stability of the far rim of the Pacific than the issue of Taiwan. We do not yet know what precipitated this apparent gross breach of established American protocol, but the damage may already have been done. This is deeply serious business. You can expect that the government in Beijing is burning up the trans-Pacific communications with some version of "what the hell is going on?" They will likely make their displeasure, if not fury, known very quickly.
Regardless, someone needs to tell the President-elect that this isn't some "reality-show" that you can fix in the editing room.

I'm tentatively in agreement with you, for once. I think Trump does what is best for Trump's popularity. Eliminating Medicare is not a good idea, in the eyes of his main 50+ year-old base. There was a Freep thread about this, and roughly half of the Freepers who responded were fascisplaining that this is just a bluster that will lead to cutting Obamacare and other "wasteful" programs in order to save Medicare.

I do think we're going to see stepped up Mexican border security theater. Cuba is a boon for his billionaire friends, so I have no worries about him at least maintaining Obama's status quo (where you can go on an "educational" visit and save your museum receipts), if not outright authorizing tourist visas for Americans. And he'll tell Pence and Ryan to get bent on the gays (tee-hee-hee).

*sigh*

Better her than Palin?

There was no vote fraud. The tards in the nether regions of the state spoke, and the whiny Bern-outs were too angry to show up for Hillary.

Just another reason for me to leave.

they are playing around with removing cash from their shores, no doubt brought up following tD idea to allow amnesty for bringing back profits. the us would do well to let the reds know who's in charge (even if the us ain't :) ).

It'd be funny that you still call China "the reds", if it wasn't deadly serious.

Re: POTUS Elect Trump I: Get in pu$$y - we're gonna make American great again

I seriously don't understand why we can't engage Taiwan. I get that it ****es off China, but **** them. They've been encroaching into the South China Sea for a couple years now.

It's time to reassert ourselves there.

Contacting a world leader shouldn't be considered a breach of protocol.
