Playoff Results 2021

Wisconsin 1 Providence 0 end of 1.
SOG 13 - 0 Wisconsin.

Providence probably had puck posession in their offensive zone for MAYBE 2 minutes (being generous). And most of that time was on their only PP of the period.

0 shots on goal and yet...Fryerettes (copyright TimothyA) only down 1-0 at the end of 1 period.
Against some teams, PC could take heart, having survived that with better periods ahead. History tells me that UW is just going to clamp down harder with the forecheck in the 2nd, and eventually, a couple of their shots over the goal will miss and go in.

Yeah...I was just looking for something positive to say but it looks like worse is in store for PC.

I’m a big fan of 4 quarterfinals happening on 2 different days and all at different times. Let’s keep this for next year, powers that be.

You guys remember when USA played Canada, the US Coach stressed possession? Watch Providi....they do not protect the puck, throw off the glass and look for home run shots...yes, the Badgers have a strong forecheck but it’s beyond that...either the Friars came into the game NOT believing they could win, or haven’t been coached to be ready for Wisconsin! If the latter, that’s unforgivable given the amount of video available to dissect! I have to revert to ARM’s postulate that in any given year, HE does not prepare their teams for the level of play the WCHA does! Speed, knowledge of system, conditioning are all innate given the weekly standard of play in the WCHA....HE has too many off weekends....maybe it’s time for that simple theorem!

Do you think Providence will get a shot on goal in period 2? I put the over under at 3. ;-) Wink

Yes. I was thinking this morning that most years, I would miss most of the other quarterfinal games being at the UW game in person. Seeing the other games in toto is a small COVID 'silver lining'.

#17 for the Fryerettes is still looking for parts of her uniform after being deked by #15 of the Sinners...

Hey and in the moral victory category for the Fryerettes...They have attempted a handful of shots so far this period.

So far Northeastern looks like the scariest team imo. Wisconsin is dominant yet not really executing. Schneider is wonderful to watch.
