Plattsburgh State 2010

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

So based on your theory, the mens team should drop playing their conference games with Fredonia and Buff State because its too far of a drive? Does it suck about Elmira? Yes. Ever since Thomaris left there has been rumors around that the series would come to an end. Why travel over 6 hours at $3.50/galon, pay for a hotel and meals for ONE meaningless non-conference game when you can go to Castleton down the road. Plus when Canton comes aboard, they will have to cut 2 more games out of their schedule. Norwich? No. Middlebury? No. Skimore (2 hours away)? No. Williams (3 hours away)? No. Curry (near boston for recruiting)? No....geez what are we left with?? Thats right Elmira...

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Teal Gove of the Plattsburgh State women’s hockey team has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference West Player of the Week after tallying six points in a 2-0 weekend for the Cardinals against Chatham. The honor marks the first of the 2010-11 season for Plattsburgh.

A sophomore forward from Berwick, Ontario, Gove scored a goal and two assists in Saturday’s 12-1 win over the Cougars. She followed with another three-point performance the next day, netting two goals and an assist in Plattsburgh’s 6-0 shutout.

Nationally-ranked No. 2 Plattsburgh is off this weekend, but will return to action on Friday, December 3 as the Cardinals travel to Norwich to take on the Cadets at 7 p.m

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

Yup...It's a dump. Hey EC agreed to hit the road, so they can't be too upset...besides, traveling to Plattsburgh is probably a shorter trip than going from EC campus through the sticks to the Shadowdumps... ;)

Ya might want to take a gander at "Stafford Arena Idiocy" thread over on the men's board before you do anymore rink bashing there Seyless. The Domes might be a little rough around the edges but by god at least they know how to treat their patrons...

//what's that...the clock still isn't working?

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

Haha...everytime somebody loses at Stafford....the excuses come flowing out!! Just like the tears!! wa wa!!

Sorry...I just went over and read this thread...and I have to agree with the poster. The Platty AD is a bit off his rocker with this "no noisemakers" crap!! Afterall it's a hockey game, not a golf tournament!! Bruce...wake up it's the 21st century! Noise creates atmosphere and that in itself makes the event that much more attractive!! Helloooo!!!!!

Loses?

Might want to read that again...90% of those quotes are from Cardinal fans.

Can't have any fun in there, they are calling for Emery's head, Gray haired old ladies are getting harassed by security, they are calling for the AD's head, the Zamboni operators are incompetant, the students and the townies are at war, and the freakin clock still doesn't work...:rolleyes:

Trouble in the Cardinal nest? :eek:

Guess you didn't read my second "mea culpa" post. I agree with what they're saying. Hockey games are meant to be raucous and loud. He just doesn't get it. As for the facility itself, the scoreboard is a joke, but the rest of the building is just fine...much, much better than alot of facilities around the league.

Bricks and Mortar don't make a barn...however I accept your apology. :)

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

Huge tilt...don't forget your cowbell's....

I'll also be sure to go obnoxiously out of control in the rink lobby for every living being in the world to hear me in the event that the team I wish to win, in fact, wins the the game. ;)

Until then, give me two teams, a big game in December, and a rink to play it in and I'm there. Looking forward to it.

Hmmm. Ok Trot's.

I was there earlier in the year...might want to rethink that plan.

Plenty of chisled cadets hanging around there and well...you might end up in the hoosegow.

At least they have lights...and a crowd......:rolleyes::rolleyes:

You also have more then one bathroom, and doesn't take you 40 minutes to get out the one driveway....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Plattsburgh may have a crap scoreboard, but even our pee-wee scoreboard is better then the 1960's scoreboard at the bra.... of course this coming from the school that has to put up a banner every time they sneeze....too bad there no real banners (besides the couple womens). I think your Elmira mens and womens team have enough issues for you to worry about.

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

For anyone not making the trek to Northfield on Friday, you can view the live video webcast here:

http://www.nsnsports.net/norwich/

John Lawrence will have the call with Norwich SID Charlie Crosby '63 on color commentary.

For those attending, feel free to stop by and say hi. I'll be at the VIP seating press box behind the Norwich bench taking stats.

Let's hope they're as entertaining, professsional and informative as WIRY's Rob and Ducky!

I've heard some really bad webcast coverages over the years. Mostly those that treat the women's game as a homework assignment for budding Communications professionals who really don't know hockey, or could care less. I think one of the worst came from Manhattanville.

As much as I enjoy the Rob and Ducky show...WIRY's coverage is hit and miss on the women's games.

Are they scheduled to cover the Elmira/Platty matchup on the 11th/12th of December? For that matter, is there any coverage of the Panther/Cardinal Classic on the 2nd/3rd of January?
