Nice point coach can be wrong at times. It also could be that the school is not the right fit. Remember that the players are students first and hockey players next. As far coach Houle goes who cares why they called him ( my opinion he has probably talked to them first time around and left a good impression) . The important part of this whole thing is that the girls get a good education and enjoy their time at the school reguardless of how the hockey turns out.

I'm sure that the fans of other teams would be ecstatic if their school was getting an influx of D1 transfers, so I don't really understand all the bitterness toward Plattsburgh for landing these kids.

As you said, Dogwatcher, people transfer for all sorts of reasons ... but, I would bet that playing time (or lackthereof) is usually at the top of the list. Not sure academics necessarily has a lot to do with it, however, when we're talking about hockey players...

Was just informed that Direct Air is now offering direct flights from Niagara Falls, NY to Plattsburgh!! ***....where were these deals two, three, four years ago!!?? Let's see....seven hour drive versus one hour flight....hmmmm!!! Bad timing I guess. :mad: :mad:

I think Elmira had something to do with blocking those flights while your D was at Platty Seymore butts;) :D

You could have flown to Montreal. Montreal to Platty is about a 1 hour ride, as long as you time the drive in the right off-peak hours. Houle is familiar with Montreal. Used to be in the Canadiens system.

Trust me, I checked out ALL the options. Flying economically in Canada is impossible. I refuse to be gouged. On he other hand, flying between two U.S. destinations is FAR more reasonable. Go figure! :rolleyes:

No fly list indeed!!!:(

Seymore, you gotta Lookmore. Fly in and out of Montreal often with great deals. $99 to Toronto, $149 ( once even $119 ) to Vancouver. $399 to Europe.

Moberg, Brown, Doyle (F), O'Connor, Bowler, Gibson, Taylor, Smith, O'Brien, Khan, Beattie, and Goguen played. Current beat former, 5-3. It was tied 3-3 with 5 minutes to go.

That's a pretty impressive alumni team. If those girls are still in shape and playing that's no small feat for the current cards to have under their belt.

O'Connor, Goguen and Doyle haha. Doyle took a wrister from the right circle and sniped it high glove side for the first goal of the game

Anybody going to the game on Sunday? If so, updates would be appreciated by those of us who can't make it:) I know it just an exhibition game, but it has been a really long off season !

So tell me, do you think 5 4and other EC supporters have been given the "gag order" by the "powers that be" ??? It's awful quiet this young season...and kind of nice too...!!!

That's been my assumption. Don't mind the quiet. On this thread or any others. Just play hockey, let the results speak, right?

Talked to a Chatham Mom today. She says the problems the team had in the past may be behind them. New coach and supportive AD have improved the atmosphere there. If true, look for improvements in the next couple of years!
