Plattsburgh State 2010

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

Not really Trots...This should be the Card's year...all the moons are lined up, Dressing Room repairs have been made...clock's fixed, the "Michigan Dogs" have been ordered, WIRY boy's are on standby & the new recruits are flush with D1 experience. If the Card's can't get er done this year...well.

Really hoping they make it to the Final Four this year...Mark my words...If not I fear one of these springs Ol' Seymore is going to go off the deep end and we'll miss him dearly! :D

Fruitfly...indeed.

I'm having a hard time figuring out whether that whole reply was a backhanded compliment or if you are just bitter about something. if you're looking for someone to make a comment about how elmira "is still the team to beat because they won the ECACW last year no matter how much you say this is the Cards' year..." here it is. savor it. it's my experience that over-complimenting your biggest rival is just building yourself up to think you're amazing if you tear them down. Here's to seeing them eagles grounded this year ;)

Back handed comment? I'm crushed Trot's! You know me better than that....I'm serious. Hell EC's got nothing this year. 1 senior, bunch of rookies still trying to find there way to class. No...I predict RIT & Platty will duke it out this year for sure...unless...;)

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

...oh? whats this? a cliffhanger that will have to wait until the east-west classic? What kinda tricks is fargo concocting over there?:p

Actually ...you weren't invited to the East-West Classic...sorry about your luck.

Have to wait till the December 11th weekend to sink your teeth in to the young Eaglets this year at the Stafford again...Yawn... and then of course again at the Panther-Cardinal in early 2011 where the Card's will be able to extend their exemplary record at the very tourney that bears their name.

It`ll be a massacre. ;)

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

And..... for the 2nd year in a row Platty doesn't have to leave their building in order to face the Soaring Eagles... I mean ya know...if ya wanna play the best you gotta come to their barn right?

I'm thinking we just anoint them National Champs.. I mean with 6 D1 transfers who has a chance... and while we're at it I see no reason why Houle shouldn't be awarded "Coach of the Year" right hear and now. 6 stud recruits without ever having to leave your office? Brilliant!!

Forgive me, but I really just can't seem to figure out the apparent resentment for the fact that Plattsburgh nabbed some D-I transfers. You both keep referencing the fact that Houle "recruited without having to leave his office..." and blah blah blah. Why do you care so much? I mean, first of all, that statement is ridiculous in itself. If you thought about it for a second, you'd know that wasn't possible. Second of all, if he was able to get some D-I players, it affects "you" for no other reason than the fact that its a few more players for a team that you are hoping to beat at some point in the season. Speak your peace and be done with it. There is no need to take shots at the coaching staff and recruits. No need for the sarcastic comments about anything. I just don't understand the attitude and resentment in both of yours and 5-4's comments throughout this whole thread. The act is getting pretty old and the script is pretty well being played out at this point. We get it. You aren't happy.

You also act as if Plattsburgh told Elmira that the only way they would play this year would be if they came back to Plattsburgh? I mean, do you realize how completely ridiculous that statement is? It's much more ridiculous seeing it typed out than when you think it in your head, I'm sure. Get a clue. It's a balanced schedule factor. Less travel for more teams in one season and top teams not having to play all the other top teams on the road in the same year. Not that hard to figure.

My box of Kleenex is on its way...

Your forgiven..:)

Oh... c'mon now Trot's. A little preseason light hearted banter. No different than Elmira's funny colored uniforms or the asbestos dome they play in or whatever Seymore calls it...I can't believe for a minute that you didn't think you would get a pushback on this one. I know if I'm a Cardinal Fan (heaven forbid) and get this news, my first reaction would be...Oh oh...here we go.

Step back for a minute and think about how hilarious the thing looks to anyone other than the Platty faithful..3 time losers of the ECAC West and the answer is to bring in 6 D1 transfers. **** the torpedoes! Hah!

Really...Trot's your a newspaper man..ya gotta admit this storyline has legs & despite your urging that it's getting pretty old and that the script is played out...this baby isn't likely to go away any time soon. I mean it's just too good a read. I can't wait to see the ending.

BTW & for the record, at no time have I ever say anything derogatory about the transfers in question only the fact that the shear number of them in one year in an established program puts them all directly in the spotlight and only one man is responsible for that.

I'm with Prez Jonson however...I hope Nuemann wins the whole thing!

less so directed at you, 5-4, than your little buddy. i never seem to see any chirping around here until I already see the fighting. You make quite the tag team, but if I were you, I'd wanna stop carrying the load of the partnership and branch out to be a solo act. Chirping can handle himself, he doesn't need to follow your act.

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

So it's a big deal to bring in some D1 transfers but can we think how many girls got recruited to play D1 but chose to play DIII for other reasons? Wouldn't this be the same thing?

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

Wow...the EC "faithful" have shown their true colours early! Always leading with their mouths. It's all quite typical...sad...but also humorous. Bring on the real hockey ASAP...this is getting stupid. (Of course any conversation with EC "fans" ends this way.) ;)

Birds of a feather...flock together...:)

Hah! Seymore...just as typical is the fact that once again you prove to be a way better pitcher than you are a catcher...:)

Hey I didnt say anything derogatory about the transfers. Hell I dont even know who they are. There's nothing on BTD so I'm trusting that whomever started this thread is providing accurate info.

You'll recall that it was I who started the D111 - Top 5 thread and had the Cards showing well because of the returnees, the fact that I'm sure the coach had something up his sleeve, and the obvious fact that you cant lose forever!
If you dont win with this lineup then hey... it aint gonna happen.

Do I have more respect for a program that finds and recruits its own players than that of a program whose entire (or almost) recruiting class is made up of
other teams malcontents;) ... well yes I do!
Remember "I'm an Eagle not a Cardinal- those birds are my foe" to quote the EC video scribe "Spesh" in his video "Champions".

So I'll lay off you super sensitive red birds and watch the follies from my perch. But remember there's no EC force to be reckoned with this year so you better get it done now.. that's all I'm saying....

As for my friend 5-4 , well he's got the staying power to hang in and slug it out with you birds all year.. God love him it , and others, would be a pretty boring without his humor and "tell it like it is" attitude!
Chirp out .. !!!

Re: Plattsburgh State 2010

So it's a big deal to bring in some D1 transfers but can we think how many girls got recruited to play D1 but chose to play DIII for other reasons? Wouldn't this be the same thing?

I agree with this post but I think that the concept of the "D1 player" is really multiple shades of gray, not black and white. First of all, regardless of how talented these 6 girls may be, if they did not play for their D1 school (and I would assume if they weren't playing perhaps they weren't always dressing either) then it is reasonable to suggest that they were not receiving money. If a girl is the 18th or 21st player on a D1 roster and is not getting any money, in many cases the coach at that school did not recruit her, she recruited herself. Compare that girl with someone who had the same opportunity at one or more D1 schools, but chose to go DIII for any number of reasons as hahaha points out. In my book that girl is certainly no less a player as the so-called D1 transfer player.

Also, in Coach Houle's defense, I would assume that when these 6 girls were still in high school that he recruited most of them and they are now realizing that his view of where they belong makes more sense than what they might have thought of themselves a year or two ago. Sometimes the recruiting you do takes a little longer to bear fruit. I have no problem with how this worked out for Platty.
