It was a huge win over a top tier team. Now there's a weekend off and time to prepare for a huge road trip to Union.
Careful now. "top tier team"? Air Force didn't receive even so much a single vote in this week's USCHO poll and is not ranked in the Pairwise--at all. I realize they were the preseason pick to win their conference, but.............
What, then, does that make your upcoming opponent, Union, who received a first place vote in this week's poll and is in the top ten in the polls and in Pairwise?
Steve,
Been watching your team through my orange tinted glasses (lol) and indeed was surprised (but not overly) with your result vs Air Force. Good bunch of players on your team. Best of luck against Union. I took a few pictures (nothing fancy) at the two Penn State games I was at this year, here's a link.

Appreciate the thoughts and the photos. Do you mind if I link to them on our Facebook page?
Solid performances this weekend by State. Would have been nice if they could have kept the second game a little bit closer, but still a hell of a job for their first weekend against a ranked team. If they keep maturing and improving I can see them snagging one from Wisconsin or MSU in January. I think it's hilarious that fans from any team they beat or play well against say that their team (apparently) didn't play to their potential that weekend.
Welcome to USCHO! Minnesota is the only school who has that right and nobody else. Just sayin.
To be honest.. not a big surprise that ASU took one from you guys this weekend. Your roster is still mainly club players or players without D1 experience. Additionally, to call ASU a club team is misleading. They have one of the best programs in the nations, recruiting, huge talent pool, and could easily dominate d3/2 in the NCAA. So don't be too hard on yourselves.
.
Exactly. I would even throw in a couple of Minnesota D3 teams in there. Hell I didn't even know ASU had any kind of hockey.Arizona St may be able to compete at the D3 level, but not a chance they "could easily dominate." Programs like Oswego, Norwich, St. Norbert, Plattsburgh, and Middlebury would wipe the floor with ASU 9 times out of 10. Let's not forget Penn St was also shut out 3-0 by Buffalo St, a mid pack (at best) D3 program.
