PC Hockey.....continues to grow

Re: PC Hockey.....continues to grow

Gillies taken by the Flames in the third round
By Nathan Fournier Published: 24th June 2012
Jonathan Gillies said all along that draft rankings didn’t mean much.

The sixth ranked North American goaltender from South Portland according to NHL Central Scouting was the fourth North American goalie taken off the board when the Calgary Flames used the 75th overall selection in the third round to take Gilles.

“That draft was so unpredictable,” Gillies said. “I didn’t know where I was going to go. There was so many off the wall picks. The (NHL Central Scouting) rankings really went out the window.”

Saw that Danny New is at the development camp for Ottawa. Also, believe that Tim Schaller will be at the Flames camp next week with Jankowski and Gillies. Tim went to the Blackhawks camp last summer.

Since it is now pay I can't reference the Projo story about this the other day. They had a paragraph mentioning the other RI'ers/RI by connection in the US Hockey HOF. Mentioned Cammi, David Cavangh's dad, Sara and in that case mentioned her whole gold medal Olympic team is in. What they didn't say was the irony that Lou actually made the US HOF after his daughter in law who was on that Olympic team

Re: PC Hockey.....continues to grow

What happened to Vermont today is my biggest fear with Jankowski next year and my argument that he come in now.

Next Summer he is in the same spot as the UVM kid. Jankowski actually would be a couple of months older than he is right now, size wise he is already taller and weight wise there does not appear to be much difference. The only difference is the level of play till now. If Jankowski has a season as good (and ZG did not light the USHL up like Roy did) you wonder what will happen. I'd rather he comes now. If he does well enough to sign we got a year out of him. You also know he is ready. If he is not ready we get more time out of him. He has 4 college years to potentially use. Let us get the most out of them

Scott McLaughlin‏@smclaughlin9

Mark Jankowski says he hasn't decided if he'll be playing for Providence or Dubuque this season. Expects to decide "fairly soon."

Re: PC Hockey.....continues to grow

Jankowski is on the Dubuque roster, if that means anything.

He's listed there as follows:
Mark Jankowsk F 6'2 168

It's gonna take a while for him to develop the bulk needed on that 6-2 frame to play in the NHL.
We should get 1 or 2 years out of him at least, assuming he wants to get some college playing time and education
under his belt.

Jankowski tweeted the following on July 19th at 12:26 am

Yep, gotta say I'm a little bit jealous of seeing all my Providence boys getting their sticks today :(

I think that pretty much says he isn't going to be at PC this year....:-(

Re: PC Hockey.....continues to grow

What are some of the summer tournaments that you go to to see the up coming college prospects?
