If the US sneaks into the gold medal game Ron Wilson & the boys need to break out the bad Herb Brooks sport coats.

The commentator said Semin's hit on Boyle was a "nasty, dirty hit" that was "late, high and dangerous."

That was Milbury and I have to disagree with every word of it. Which won't be the first time I have disagreed with that tool. IN FACT, it happens quite often :p :D

I like how this guys says "Suh-lah-knee".

CTV/TSN is usually pretty good. I always like CBC's PBP guys though, but to each their own.

Must be Kenny Albert had to go home.

so as soon as a player lets go of the puck you can't touch him? we'll have to look for that restraint in the next CA game

Yeah, he's fine, I'm just amused by the accent. Dunno why this isn't Kenny and Joe though; maybe they have the late game?

If he does, Ronny does have to say: "If you lose this game, you will take it to your f&#$in' grave."

No, that was the color commentator during the game. Eddie Olczyk?

Don't hold your breath.

Ah, my fault, I missed that. It doesn't surprise me as I often disagree with him, too :)

I still believe it was a pretty clean hit. Hard for sure, but clean. My comment was more to the fact that Boyle was doing just that--retaliating for the hit. However, when asked, he will have the opportunity spin his actions as protecting "his" superstar...

I think Sunday woke up the Canadians. I think they will roll to the gold.

I wouldn't doubt it..

I wish Russia would've been better. The potential those two teams have in a game where both teams are at the top of their games is absolutely insane.

I think both Semin and Volchenkov would have found themselves in fights if this was a regular NHL game. By the definition of the rule, Semin boarded him, and in a 4 goal game with a minute and a half left, drilling someone that hard, clean or no, usually starts a scrum in a situation where fighting wouldn't automatically suspend you.

I won't put money against the gold medal for Canada, that is looking more and more likely again. If the US [if it IS the US] can come out and hit them like they already have, I don't see a "rolling" to it, however.

BTW: Maybe Havlat can pepper Kippersof tonight--as he just rung one off of his helmet--in preparation for next Wednesday night in the Saddledome ;)

I don't care what the rule says or what the time on the clock said. Clean hit in my book. Boyle is a cry baby who couldn't take being hit. You're defending him because he plays for the Sharks.
