Then he would have to get a real job!

Eruzione has said many times, " a couple of inches to the right and I'd be painting bridges today".

And apparently, there's no plan to reshow the game... :(

I think they re-show them on nbcolympics.com.

Now if they were showing the hot Russian women's curling team going against Denmark or something, that'd change everything.

UHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, Ludmilla.

With the good half of the German women's team on the ice, just for the heck of it.

You are such a freakin' contrarian. Of course, Ice Dancing is a VERY big deal all across the United States, particularly in the old Confederacy. Suck on the sequins, will ya?

Ice dancing is to sports what I am to Nuclear Physics. A non-factor.

I firmly believe there would be more hockey fans if more people would have watched that game. Instant classic. The kind of game to get people hooked.

There might be, but it could just as easily have been a blowout. Would it still be an "instant classic" if the final score was 6-1?

As opposed to hockey, which is so popular here.

You're STILL a freakin' contrarian. And I suspect your're WEARING the sequins.

They could be used for measurements.

I wasn't suggesting Germany has a any chance, But rather it would be nice to eliminate Russia or Canada before them semi finals.

I don't think Germany is winning 2 games :p

No but that wasnt really my point... but a game like that might keep a few people watching hockey after the olympics since it acutally gets some tv coverage. Once the olympics are over there wont be any coverage of ice dancing.

Ice Dancing had exactly one moment when a significant number of people cared. That moment has come and gone, and Torvil and Dean have retired. Game over.

In other news, Dany Heatley is holding out and demanding a trade from Team Canada to Team Germany, citing lack of heart in his current location.

And the Canadian Cougar could be the judge/overseer.

Sensible solution: allow flex coverage. We knew the game was a mortal lock for classic status after 2 periods, I think. Miller was clearly in the zone. NBC could've done a cut-in for the 3rd. If the improbable happened and someone built a 4-goal lead, they could've gone back to homosexuality on ice.

On the other hand having Germany win will kill the Crosvechkin collective orgasm.

No, I'm a realist.

NBC is in the business of getting ratings and selling ads. Did you notice that there were NO commercials during the game? Combine that with the ratings they are *guaranteed* for a silly ice dancing exhibition and a gamble on hockey (which gets DISMAL ratings) is not a viable option. Any network executive who wrote a memo or went to a meeting and said, "Let's put our highest rated shows on MSNBC and put a hockey game on NBC" would be summarily fired.

That would work, and is apparently what NBC did, as Scarlet pointed out below.

Ha, Ha, Ha, "homosexuality on ice," Perfect. Plus, at least in pairs figure skating you see some actual athletic moves, a throw triple axel is a big deal and takes a great amount of skill and practice. But shaking your azz? Nah, not so much.
