Uh, 3/6 is Russia-Canada. I'll take the 1 slot over the 2 in that situation.

Huh I didnt realize that...in that case go Backstrom :D

If anything, NBC continuing to show coverage/information about this game just shows how poor they are. "Here is this super exciting game, which the USA won btw, and we relegated it to some tertiary channel."

That too. If the US can't win, I want Sweden, since we'll be meeting Murray at the NorCal alumni Sharks game in March and it'd be kinda cool if he was wearing a gold medal.

1. They need to keep those jerseys.

2. Rafalski is awesome.

3. Ryan Miller is awesome.

4. Michigan State should probably pay Emrick an advertisement fee.

You gotta understand, we've got a big controversy about those Russian ice dancers' costumes (disrespectful to indigenous people, dontcha know) so we've gotta keep the network clear for that. A hockey game between the hosts and the USA just doesn't get there. I'm surprised you don't understand.:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

So now we need Sweden to beat Finland by less than 5. If that happens who are we likely to see in the quarters?

If I'm reading it right, as the 1, and playing the winner of 8/9, we'd be seeing Switzerland-Belarus.

The MSNBC recap guy is calling it a Rafalski hat trick. Apparently he doesn't give much credence to the official's scoring record.

Switzerland... or Belarus... either one won't be an easy win but its a win we should expect to get. The Semis would effectively be the Finn/Czech winner in that scenario. Of course in the semis there will be no easy outs.

It's hockey. It's the preliminary round. It's not like this is the Miracle on Ice. We have a skewed view because we're hockey fans, but NHL ratings are a loser and there is no way NBC was devoting three hours of *prime time* to a preliminary round hockey game.
