Too be fair to most schools, particularly those not on the NCAA Ranked List, in order to be included on the OOC schedule of a ranked team, you really have to be ranked yourself, as a non-ranked team has nothing to loose and everything to gain - and obviously vice-versa. Unfortunate but true, it is a chicken & egg issue (ask Adrian).

I agree DIIIFan, if Platty is in any tournament they have just as good a chance as anyone else to win the title. There is a reason why they are in the SUNYAC finals for the millionth time, they step it up a notch when the title is on the line.

Coaches like Gosek, Emery, McShane, Coghlin, etc have the ability to recruit players who can win, getting the horse to drink the water is their perpetual challenge - Emery just seems (ok has the track record) of "finding a way to win those games", he usually claims is the team's leaders on the ice - it probably is.

wouldnt mind seeing one of those you tube video montages that usually get posted by a tech savvy Oz fan ...ya know the Oz vs Platty for all the marbles type thing...let the hype begin........ps not sure who will be considered the underdog

Cards are clearly the "underdogs" . Pressure is clearly on Oswego but that doesnt mean that this group of senior Lakers shouldn't be expected to win a HOME game for all the marbles.

now thats what Im talking about:D...they should not be expected at all,afterall they lost to platty 2x already this yr so hey no pressure at all:eek:

This whole underdog stuff is just nonsense. There is no UNDERDOG in this game. These teams are very equal with Platty having the better goalie and the Lakers a bit better offense which is what you want to see, the strengths of each team going at each other. This game will probably be better than most of the NCAA games that are about to start next week. As a Laker fan lets hope Hare plays his best game Saturday and the D has figured their stuff out.

I never said I don't think Platty doesn't have a chance in the NCAA's. Platty always has a chance. I'm just looking at the numbers from this year and last year and making my best guess. It's nothing personal. I could be wrong, and honestly if Platty is the only SUNYAC team in the NCAA's this year I'll probably be rooting for them. No need to get overly angry. I had an opinion, I apologize that it disagreed with yours.
If it makes any difference, if Oswego loses on Saturday yet somehow gets into the NCAA's anyway, I don't think they would do very well either. I'm just looking at the numbers and records and forming opinions. I mean no offense.
