Oswego Lakers 2022-23..Crash the net...Let's go Lakers!!!!!

Ok moved up to #6 in poll...our 5 loses....we have lost to the # 1,2,3 teams no shame in that game...lost to Skidmore who looks pretty good so far and lost to Morrisville who is what it is,Skidmore also lost to mville so maybe they have a good game here and there.....tie to Postdam,ugh.......Ok on to the North Country next weekend, should be a great game vs Platty ,then the trap game vs Da Bears.....Go Lakers...p.s. any idea on our injured players??? PM me. TIA

#5 had a nice chat with someone how is more with the in to know and a couple of our possible better players are out for the season. Which I thought were just hurt. This has been a tough year for the Lakers. Gotta give our trainer lots of credit keeping this team skating.

Well that's about what I thought and it will not make it any easier down the stretch run, hope they heal up and perhaps make a return next yr...Go Lakers!!

WOW lucky to get those points leaving the north country for sure, play that way against Genny and say goodnight Gracie ,uninspired weekend, got out hit all weekend.....Let's hope the walking wounded will be back in action asap.....Go Lakers!!!

Yes,just saw that on the Oz website ya beat me to it...GREAT Job all around, team effort for sure......Go Lakers!!!

Congrats to Cortland on a nice win they earned it. There is differently something amiss in Laker land. Since they lost to Skidmore they have not been the same team. There just seams to no energy or consistent play. This may be a result of injuries but every team has them. The new d'man Barrett has shown promise. I like the fact that his has some speed to his game.
This stupid rule of 2 infractions on a face leads to a delay of game needs to go. The linesmen need to drop the puck and not hold it so long. This seasoned I have never seen so much bad officiating, and I suspect it is everywhere to include on the pro level.
I hope the Lakers figure their problems out like very soon for they are headed for 4th or worse in the SUNYAC standings. On a bright not it was good to see schell in goal. I thought his injury might have been really serious.

Agree, there is little jump and we seem to get out hit and out hustled to the puck most of the time, we also have a habit of puck watching in our D zone, happened on one of their goals, all 5 players were crowded in one area..Not sure if the injuries are the problem, we seems to be worn out??? Lets hope come playoff time it will change ....as for Genny next week?????? Special Teams are obliviously NOT TO SPECIAL....cannot go 0-7 on the PP and 2-4 on the PK and expect to beat ANY team....Go Lakers!!!

Rule of thumb…Officiating always seems to be bad when your losing, and fine if your winning. It aint the refs….

Nope it doesn't matter if you are winning or loosing. Calling out poor officiating is just that. I heard a lot of ref complaining last weekend in platty by platty fans while they were kicking out tail.

Certainly does. You wouldn’t say a word about the officiating if you Oswego was 15-1. Two infractions on a faceoff is actually a great new rule, abide by it.

It's another way the refs get themselves into the game/noticed,don't like it at all, this is NOT the NHL,and there is not a big audience watching on T.V. ....If it takes 2 or 3 try to drop the puck then maybe the refs are at fault??? There are enough damn rules in the game now-a-days....drop the puck...Go Lakers!!!

Best effort I have seen in a while from The Lakers...best comeback in a while as well...Out shot Genny 56 to 25,and had many chances to score but didn't finish...PP looked good in the third...tough outcome, onto Bport....Go Lakers!!!

Not to cause any trouble here, but how was the penalty in OT not a penalty shot? I mean, what was the argument against it?

I could not believe that was not a penalty shot was free and clear ,another reffing blunder, will not get into that again.....

I just watched it again. He was just crossing the blueline when pulled down. Probably it was not felt he was clear enough yet. Could have been a penalty shot, but at least the penalty was called and the one man advantage was there.

Yess,if there was not at least a penalty called,I think there would have been a spontaneous round of chuck-a-not puck, anything you can get your hands on .....

Didn't see the brockport game but the Genny game was the best effort I have seen from the Lakers is sometime. The Lakers came out with lots of energy and that seemed to carry the whole game. Yes we didn't get the W but out PPK was good and so was the rest of their efforts. Can't complain about the L when Genny made 2 great shots and the 3rd goal Schell didn't even see it for he was screened. Great effort in the third. I hope this effort keeps going into the SUNYAC playoffs.

This. I never felt it was a penalty shot when I saw it live. And still felt that way when I saw the replay.

For starters, the puck was not on his stick when he was pulled down. Though he probably would have picked up the puck and carried it in, but at the time he did not have possession of it.

I also didn’t feel he had a whole step on the defender, though I could be convinced otherwise.

Finally, he was near the side, not down the middle. So it could be argued at the time he was pulled down, he didn’t have a clear scoring opportunity.
