For starters, the puck was not on his stick when he was pulled down. Though he probably would have picked up the puck and carried it in, but at the time he did not have possession of it.

I also didn’t feel he had a whole step on the defender, though I could be convinced otherwise.

Finally, he was near the side, not down the middle. So it could be argued at the time he was pulled down, he didn’t have a clear scoring opportunity.

I'd have to rewatch it again for the possession angle, but I had no doubt either time I saw it that the Oswego player was clear of the Geneseo player and he had a clear scoring chance. I'll admit I didn't notice possession though....
 
Solid win at Morrisville last night. Shutout for Schell, special teams were clicking. I've said for years that I'd gladly play them twice down there rather than let them set skate in The Deb. I don't know what it is....

So we're back in first place in the SUNYAC- until this weekend. We don't play for 10 days and teams can pick up 4 points on us. We need Buff. State to win the lottery- again.

6 goals WOW....not a bad win, and we know the screw up at The Deb could come back and cost us??? Go Lakers!!!

Doesn’t matter what anyone else does if Oswego can win out.

The fun starts if Oswego goes 1-0-1, Platty goes 2-0-0, Geneseo goes 3-0-0 and they all finish at 25 points
 
Well, talk about "controlling your own destiny". Win both games this weekend and take first place. Lose both and a Genny win, drop to third place. Or stay in second.

In any case, we have to win the SUNYAC tourny to make the NCAAs.

History tells us to take nothing for granted on this final weekend boys- and stay outta the box.

Forget about last weekends win vs Buff St.this is the playoffs, they will be coming off a nice win vs Cortland and if their net minder stays hot ya never know.....Time to tame the Tigers....Go Lakers!!!.....p.s. should be a great game at the Ronnie B sat night as well....
 
Yeah- I thought Cortland would win that one, but I'm happy to take the Bengals on Saturday. Cortland is a good team and scares us sometimes.

On the other hand, "it's hard to beat a team three times in a season", Buff State is due for an upset so we need to keep our nose to the grindstone here and "STAY OUTTA THE BOX".

Should be a REAL interesting game up in Plattsburgh! They tied in November and the Cards won 3-2 last month. Toss up? I think Genny is hungrier this weekend, but they're playing up north.

Remember, the regular Bengals' goalie did not play in that game against Oswego.
 
Nice effort by the Lakers. Can't be taking stupid 5 min major, or leaving Schell with so many odd man situations. Gotto has everywhere and doing some really gritty work lately. That style of play is catching on with the other players. A lot more grittiness lately.
Going to be another classic next Saturday.

Yes,we looked like a team that wanted to win, not so much at times during the season...We matched them hit for hit and then some, put the puck to the net and crashed it, collapsed at times in the Dzone but didnt pay for it,cant leave Plattys points open next week....Penalty Kill looked good,PP needs to shot and crash the net more....Schell was there when we needed him,he will have to be sharp v the birds..Should be a barn burner next week,unfortunately I will be in Boston watching a U16 3 day volleyball tourney and will not be able to watch the great show that WTOP will put on...Go Lakers!!!...p.s Will Semrad be out for the Platty game due to his major???
