Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

Crosby got the goal...the referee who got in the way gets the assist.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

This hurts. But our guys did us proud. Beat the Canadians and took 'em into OT. Would have loved to win gold. But silver's a major accomplishment.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

This is second worst day in American hockey. First was 2002.

I completely disagree. This is a great day for US hockey. We earned a medal in a tournament where we had no business being considered. THere were three teams expected to contend for gold and the US wasn't even mentioned.

While extremely disappointing now, we're going to look back at this and be thankful I believe.

Amen.

I couldn't have said it any better. They should not be hanging their heads.

The way this team played they should have won and instead a Canadian team that had no business winning wins. Same as 2002. They played great all tournament and in the Gold Medal game they can't get it done.

Yup. And a tiny home ice disadvantage.

I think this whole tournament may hopefully create some more hockey fans among the US. There was some really great hockey played and I think many people got into it and followed it when they normally wouldn't.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

i am incredibly satisfied.

this was a well played, exciting all star game.
the all stars that came together a couple days ago represented themeselves and their country well.
sidney scored the winning goal.
both teams can be proud of the show they put on for the largest audience that has seen them play.

the US earned a silver medal.
a Pittsburgh Penguin won the game with a great effort.
