Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

They can start by elevating the puck on this goalie.

I disagree completely. They have been elevating the puck to her glove side and she's made every save.

I think they need to go low on her or at the very least to her blocker side.

They also need to freaking MOVE on the PP. The 5x3 PP's have been awful and been terrible for trying to gain momentum and confidence. When you stand still and pass the puck around the perimeter while they pack three plaeyrs in front of the net in a triangle, what do you expect will happen?

I still say we're playing better against them 5x5 and I'd like to see the whistles put away in the third period.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

So I found a way around NBC banning hockey from HD and it involves the abuse of resources at work. :D

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

Much better period but you're not going to beat this goalie from long range.

2-0 after 2.

Agreed. these shots from the outside aren't going to cut it. They've gotta get the puck below the circles and use their speed and cycle the puck.

This has been such a frustrating game to watch because the USA isn't doing anything differently. They keep trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

Absolutely. Low and to the stick side. At least they need try it. She has the glove side high covered.

On a side note can someone shut up the women play by play commentator. She is god awful.

She's been better than Pierre McGuire who is completely worthless.

Thanks GOD he did not get the coaching job in Minnesota! Not just because Richards has been pretty good to date. Can you imagine Pierre McGuire as a coach

EDIT: Or did he want the GM job? I can't remember. Either way

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

They remembered what offsides is!

And Cammi Granato is a hockey icon, so I'm cutting her some slack in the commentary department.

McGuire wanted a job in college hockey? That's priceless considering how worthless he considers college hockey.

I think TBA was talking about AJ Mlesko.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

She's got it going on again.

She's doing a lot better than usual, and part of how bad she is is the bozos she's working with. She deserves the slack, and at least she respects the sport.

Though it is amusing they keep talking about pearl necklaces, particularly given the, um, demographics of the athletes.

Re: Olympics Part V: The Search for Gold

Pretty good stretch of D there, but they really need to generate offense.
