For those of you who are quick to be suspect of our new coach only after two seasons let me point out that after Enrico took over at Miami they did not win a conference titile in his first 6 seasons and had no post season in 5 of those first six seasons and look at his success in the last six seasons. So have some patience people, after all we're not the football team where people ALWAYS expect immediate results!

The occasional success a coach like Jackson had at Notre Dame so quickly spoils people into thinking it should happen anywhere. I was impressed by Ohio State under Osiecki when Notre Dame hosted them early on. Of course after the way both our teams finished the season questions are going to be inevitable. If I was an OSU fan though, I'd be looking at the two years so far in their totality. I'd see a lot of the same things I saw in South Bend after Jackson's first year. A different culture. Who knows what OSU looks like in 2 or 3 more seasons, but the trajectory is a lot more hopeful now than it was under Markell.

Who would have thought when 2012 started we'd be seeing either of our teams playing a first round series? Especially seeing either one on the road. This is the "Who was more disappointing?" series for sure. For those coming to South Bend expect to see a lot of disgruntled Irish hockey fans. The mood is definitely sour. If Johnson starts and plays like he has for most of the season the crowd will get quite restless quite quickly.

Thanks IrishHockeyFan, I remember well not too long ago us hosting you in a first round here not too long ago in our old barn. At least our guys will get to experience a good series on your impressive new ice which we didn't get to experience earlier in the season.

Im not judging him on 2 years but on that same note i would like to finish the season better than this. I do think the program is going in the right direction with this coach. Now lets go get a series win on the road for the first time since 2002.

We'd all like to have finished better but considering how these guys came here and worked over the summer and now those 12 freshmen know what exactly is expected of them they have a better template to go by this off season that they didn't have before as the coaches can't work with them until a couple weeks prior to the start of the games. I think there's nowhere to go but up and the elevator button has been pushed for the top floor!

This team doesn't deserve to make the ncaa tournament. Quite possibly, the best thing for them will be to sit home and watch all 16 teams that passed them by in the pwr over the last 8 weeks keep playing. Let them chew on that for the next six months and come out with a little more heart and determination and fight.

Agree on all points. I expect an NCAA Tournament appearance next season. If we do not make the NCAA Tournament next season, I am going to start questioning coaching. Having said that, I do think we are going in the right direction. Coach Oz and his staff just need to figure out how to eliminate these disturbing second-half meltdowns. Maybe setting home for the postseason will motivate the guys to not let that happen next year.

I think we are headed in the right direction, although good coaches have their teams improving as the season goes on. Our team appeared to regress as the season went on. That's the thing that is a bit disturbing.

It's 50-50 with me on the new Coach. There's some things I really like & some things I don't understand. He's working hard at getting the players to buy his system/culture. I think the Forwards will be stronger next year to get the puck in the net & I know for sure the D-Men will be better at helping the goalies keeping the puck out of the net. :)

I hope the BUCKS can find the spark to get past the first round of playoffs. " GO BUCKEYES GO. "

It will be interesting to see how quickly they adapt to the new arena at ND as they've never been on that ice and have to quickly learn how the boards react, soft ice, hard ice, ect. They had the priviledge of being the last team to play ND in the old arena early this season. The ND fans will be there in force to motivate their team as well.

Got my tickets for the series this morning. I am excited to see the new building and also excited to see a good series.

I believe Coach Oz will get the second half meltdown stuff corrected and we will be in the NCAA Tournament next season with three classes of his recruits in the fold.

Still no TV or video streaming listed for Friday's game, only radio & Gametracker. Can't believe they wouldn't offer online streaming!

Notre Dame streams video of all home game not otherwise televised. For free. They don't list that among the broadcast options on their schedule page, but unless they change what they have been doing for quite a few years now, it will be available on their website.

Hopefully they'll list it by Friday but if you know where to find it and we don't, posting a link would be greatly appreciated!
