Ohio State to my knowledge has never released a coach after just several seasons. To most in our athletic department hockey is still a minor sport bearely above the level of the softball team and it took the softball coach 11 seasons to win her first conference title so what does that tell you about how long Oz has to perform here?

Ahhh, let him have his little fun. It's the only thing Miami of Ohio has on their flagship university. All other sports, academics, fundraising, endowment and research, they're so far in our rear view mirror as to be utterly irrelevant.

Those two weekends a year when they play us in hockey are the only times when they can pop those collars and puff out their little pigeon chests with pride. It completes them.

True, and I would say that he shouldn't be canned if next season is horrible. He should be on the hot seat though. I think five is a reasonable amount of rope, which I believe coincides with his contract length.

You're right. Besides, all you have to do is bring up their blowing their National Title chance in the last minute and they all yowl like cats with a fork up their *ss! LOL!

Well I predicted when he was hired that it would take 2-3 seasons with his own recruits to see consistant positive results and I'm standing by that initial assesment.

I didnt have a good look at that last penalty it was along the boards and i was blocked by some of the players, although both oz and rawlick went after the officials after the game and seemed to point in the area of that call. Krogh's penalties were just flat out stupid he took penalties on back to back shifts and both of those were right infront of the officals.

I always said give a coach no less than 4 years just because then he will have all of his own players in and able to work his own systems. I like the work ethic oz has brought here not to many night over the last 2 years have we complained about the effort on the ice and we all know that wasnt the case in the last couple of years under the bench boss. They have the foundation in place to be a really good team next year and beyond but the silly mistakes have to stop.

Krough is not a recruit of Oz's and he's been front and center with a lot of mistakes this season. He may not see much playing time next season if a hungrier stud who can be a smarter player shows up.

What about an at large NCAA berth? They gave us one before that had hockey fans across the country scratching their heads. lol!

I guess we could consider it a possibility if Oz still has practice sessions up to the selection show on the 18th.

It amazes me that for the 2nd year in a row BG has beaten Northern and ohio state has failed to even win a game!

Not to turn this into a football thread, but Urban was 16-2 vs his rivals at Florida, so yeah, I think he "gets it." Guess you'll find out in Columbus in November.

Agree with this 100% Sterling Cooper ... next year will be all about Coach Osiecki and HIS program, no more excuses. A second half collapse and no NCAA Tournament appearance will be completely unacceptable next season.

I am actually envious of my wife's alma mater because at least her program improved as the season went on. Our program regressed as the season went on. And it seemed to start with our two shootout losses up there. Not good.

I get the impression we went up there with swollen heads & egos underestimating BG because of where they were ranked in the conference.

Meyer is 0-2 all time against Michigan (losses while he was the coach at Utah and Florida)...
