The BUCKS need to find a way to score 5 on 5 & 5 on 4 powerplay. Most games on this level of hockey are won by the powerplay unit.

Seriously? How many fans/Alumni of either Lake State or Alaska are there? Cleary a ND-buckeye match-up isn't a top-draw but when comparing it to the alternative you win by a landslide.

I guess since we ran Rich-Clod out of town I can agree with you on this.
I do have a question though, while that idiot was ruining our Football program you must have been in heaven. Your two most despised rivals combined into one who sweater-vest could easily beat with his pro-team.

And that is a wrap on the season. Things that plaqued them all throughout the 2nd half got them again tonight. that turnover by duddy that led to the 2nd ND goal was just god awful and then the stupid penalites all night long. I hope these guys remember the feeling from this 2nd half when next year rolls along!

We probably felt the same as you did when we were stuck with Cooper all those years who just didn't seem to get how important our annual game against you was. When you guys were stuck with Rich-Clod the joke down here was if you wanted a coach who could beat Ohio State then you should have hired John Cooper, as a coach he gave Michigan more wins over us than anybody! LOL! It's one thing to generally dislike your rival but when it got to the point you actually pitied them, then you know they've REALLY hit rock bottom. Here's to a revived rivalry my friend!

Krough seems to be a moron getting 3 but not being able to actually see the game one can't tell if the calls were legit or BS. The ND announcers questioned that last call against us with just over 2 and a half to go. The said it was going to be a shoulder to shoulder hit but the ND player turned at the last second and the call was made anyway. What do you say on that one Klbaum as you saw it firsthand?

A good Ohio State is good for college hockey. They have the name, the facilities, the conference, and the location. You guys must be sick with how this season turned out, in all seriousness--this is the worst collapse in my memory.
Any fans care to take a stab at analyzing the reason? Some quotes after the second Michigan series suggested that the team didn't take things seriously during the break, but this bad?

Really hard to put a finger on it but perhaps we hit a good stride early and after the break the other teams hit theirs and then we weren't as good as we thought? Something got in their heads during break but who knows what? Maybe the positive PR nationally swelled their heads too much. Under the new coach info just doesn't come out of the players like it used to so no insight from them.

7 penalties tonight didn't help us even if ND had just as many. It's one thing to take a penalty to stop a scoring chance by your opponent, it's another all together to commit stupid ones when your season is on the line! ND didn't score on their PP's tonight but to give them one with just over 2 minutes left was suicide. Having to pull your goaltender to give you a 5 on 5 is NOT an advantage.
Maybe our primairy offenders on taking bad penalties will be shown the bench next season if some of our incoming freshmen can take their place.

Coach Hoke knows the importance of the rivalry, he's a Michigan-Man through and through. Does Urban get it? I can't tell much from up here in Michigan but it doesn't seem like it (even though he was a GA at ohio years ago)...
If he does I have the feeling that we're headed for another "Ten year war".

Urban has always been an Ohio man and was here under Coach Bruce who was as passionate about "The Game" as Woody was so he gets it, trust me! With Urban here the recruiting trail for Michigan to get top talent out of Ohio just got a lot rougher for Hoke. He'll still get players, but not as easily or in the numbers he may have hoped for before.

I have sat back and watched this season with hope that my initial assessment on Osiecki may have been wrong and the start of the season looked that way. I now believe the reason for the great start was simply… Cal Heeter. After watching more than a dozen games I continually watched as the Defense would give up the puck in our zone, lose possession in our zone, apply poor positioning in our zone and get knocked off the puck in our zone, game after game. The forwards were in a better position and in most cases did a pretty good job, except in the second half of the season.
My father once said “in order to get respect you have to give respect”, true enough statement but I heard on no fewer than on 5 occasions in post game interviews Osiecki make the comments that his team was ” Young and Dumb”. That does not show a lot of respect towards the players or their families for that matter.
Just a thought but maybe those “Young and Dumb” players got sick of the lack of respect from the HC.. Just a thought….
One only need look at the U-Mass Lowell organization and see that after only 1 season the new HC did a great job in balancing the old with the new (11 Fr, 9 S0, 3 Jr and 4 Sr) in steadily moving his team up the rankings and improving his team..

Not that Gene Gene the Blame Shifting Machine is ever capable of admitting error in anything, but after The Collapse, next year should be make or break for Oz.
Next year can't be blamed on Markell in any fashion. It will be HIS players, HIS talent development and HIS on-ice coaching. It will be HIS program and the results--good or bad--need to be dropped at his doorstep.
