Ohio State 22-23 Are we Better Than You Think?

Cant take the dumb unnecessary penalties against them. Then throw in one on your coach and you have a 4-0 loss. The radio guys say they clinched home ice i say they didnt. ND can still get to 36 points with a regulation win and if Ohio State loses and Penn State gets 3 points that puts Ohio state 5th.

I think you are correct as ND holds the tie breaker. Your guys played a good road period, but those two tripping calls really sent the game in another direction. Unfortunate because I think the game was feeling like a 1 goal contest the way Dobes was playing.

Sure was looking like a tight one goal game but the back to back that put them on that first 5 on 3 killed them. Hats off to the Gophers they did was great teams do.

It's going to be an emotional night at Mariucci. Saying goodbye to 7 seniors and in all reality to 5-6 others who will go pro. It's always hit or miss to me whether the teams play well on these nights or if the emotions push them off their game just a little bit. They are just young adults after all. We're 3-2-1 in our last 6 senior nights. I think we'll know the outcome in the first period. The Gophers are darn near impossible to beat if they score first at home (10-1). The only loss a 5-4 OT win by North Dakota.
 
Penn State it is. Funnily, had PSU taken care of business against Wisconsin, they'd have bumped up down into 4th, and we would have gotten MSU. Still being in 3rd means we won't face Minnesota again until the final, and while anything can happen in single elimination, I don't see anyone beating Minnesota except themselves.

Penn State has a good history in Columbus during the playoffs. Winning last year in 3 games and then winning the semifinal in 19. I still would have rather seen them then ND though. I agree with you on no one beating Minnesota up there.
 
My take is pretty much:

Lose to Penn State, and we drop to a 4
Beat Penn State, and we lock down a 2
Beat Michigan, and we're a high 2
Beat Minnesota, and we're the top 2 seed and could back into a 1 with some help

I would like to get away from Minnesota for as long as possible in the ncaa tournament.

I agree. Qpac has that great goalie, but they don't scare me the way Minny does right now. Maybe the most solid college hockey team that I've seen in recent memory. Hopefully, we land on the other side of the bracket, and somebody else gets lucky and takes them out.

They need to rise 2 spots or drop 1 spot to avoid them. I dont know if rising 2 spots is possible without getting to the final.
 
The first guy seems hellbent on bunching at least 4 Big Ten teams with other Big Ten teams (and the top 4 all on one side of the bracket) while spreading the three nacho teams out into their own brackets. Anyone know what his deal is? Nacho honk? B1G hater? Or simply an imbecile?

In any event, there is no way we stay at 9 after this weekend.

The first guy just went totally by seed and since Penn State has to play in Allentown and ND is a 4 seed Michigan cant play them in the 1st round.
 
That was some series. That win tonight almost all but locks up a spot in the Ncaa's. With only 1 more loss possible and if they do lose it will be on the road to a higher ranked pairwise team they shouldnt drop much. After losing in the way they did last night and then having a goal called back then falling behind they showed a lot of grit and heart to win this game. On to AA next week cant wait to see how this one goes.
