Ohio State 22-23 Are we Better Than You Think?

Luke Strand headed to Mankato as their new HC. Anyone with better knowledge than me want to fill me in on how big of a loss he'll be?

This could be a big loss. He stepped in and filled Millers shoes with the PK and it was better than last year. This off season has been a disaster.

Any news on any portal moves that Rohlik might be making to counter our considerable losses to the pros? Seems like Miami of Ohio had a couple of players flee the sinking ship who ended up at Sparty and Michigan. Did we make any moves for them?

She’ll be the next coach of the Minnesota women’s team. She’s a Gopher alum, our fan base is incredibly impatient, and the U will throw a boat load of money at her.

Good luck with that. We are getting a new arena here in 2026 and with the $$$ our athletic department brings in, we can throw more money at her to keep her here.

Awesome news. When he played for the Buckeyes, Guenin's leadership was exemplary. The extensive NHL experience will also be a valuable asset as he takes on this new role.

Bottom Line? It's great to have Nate!

Tyler Duke transferred to Michigan. That makes at least 4 guys who left the program after last year that could have returned

The new President was captain of the hockey team at Navy and was very supportive of the UNO program while President of the NU system. With Gene's exit and this guy's entrance, can a proper arena for the men's program finally be a realistic hope?

Oregon State has won three National Titles (2006, 2007, 2018) so I don't buy the cold weather excuse. Some have said to me in the past, "Well, Oregon is not really a northern state." I call bull**** on that as I have friends who live in Oregon. They get snow and cold temperatures just like we do here in Ohio, so anyone who says Oregon is not a northern state is just full of ****. Hell, Kent State has been to a CWS more recently than Ohio State (2012). Not trying to start a debate here as this is a hockey forum, but just sick of the cold weather excuse. Michigan has been to the CWS eight times and won two National Titles. Hope our new coach doesn't buy into that stuff. With our resources and facilities, Ohio State Baseball should be competing for National Titles just like any other school. It's inexcusable that they haven't been in the mix lately.

Oregon rarely gets single digit temps and climate in Corvallis (where OSU is) is temperate! Interior of the state (Cascades) gets that frigid weather but not Corvallis, Eugene or Portland. Michigan native who used to live near Seattle so I'm familiar with the climate in question!

All the best.

Meanwhile, another yearly home and home with BG who, interestingly enough, has no series with Miami either. The Ohio Cup will be played between only two of the three teams (again).

Miami of Ohio is deep into the finding out stage.

I'd love to see an Ohio Versus The World tournament at Nationwide....with Ohio State, BG and two out-of state teams.
