Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

Playstation Updated to 4.25 today
PS Home Updated to 1.70 today

I think the 4.25 update was for PS Plus enhancements.

Tried my GT5 game right after I posted. Worked fine. If my Tiger game is screwed, I'm never buying that title again. First the DLC, then this? That would be enough for me.
I'll have to try my copy and see if it has any issues.

Played Tiger tonight, no probs. Guess it was just the server issues.

I was having server issues with an EA game on my iPhone this morning (Simpsons Tapped Out.)

That game has been plagued by server issues more than any game I can remember. When I was an early adopter of the game, before it was pulled and during time it was not available on iTunes, it would take about 10 tries to even get logged into the server. If you even were able to get a connection, you found out quickly they had somewhere between four and five servers that didn't speak to each other. So depending on which server you connected to, you'd get a different save file. Very frustrating.

Glad to hear they finally re-released it and they fixed the problems...

To be fair, I've had it about a week and that's the first server issue I've had. I know about the problems at launch.

Now if the ****ed donuts weren't so expensive and hard to come by...basically 10 bucks for Professor Frink's lab and 20 bucks for the farking Springfield sign?

Ya, that's how those phone games get you. Special items bought with real money. Most of which are overpriced, as you eluded to.

The only one I've found so far that's pretty fair is Smurf's Village. You can get the berries needed to buy special items for free as you level up and via other special events. Or you can also buy them. They have now added deals where you can get more berries for a lower price during short sales.

The 2nd add-on for Skyrim is out on Xbox 360. Hearthfire (400 pts) lets you build your own home, adopt children, create furniture, build skill items like alchemy labs, workbenches, etc.

I'd guess PC will be next, and PS3 will be last. PS3 still doesn't have the 1st add-on, Dawnguard.

Dragon Age III: Inquisition was just announced by Bioware. By just I mean they gave more info. They obviously have talked about it for more than a year now.

First impression of Borderlands 2 is, more of the same awesome loot whoring and killing. This time around there is a main antagonist right away, Handsome Jack.

Will it be better than Dragon Age II: The Train Wreck?

I quite like Guild Wars 2. Has some flaws but way more solid than Diablo III.

But does it have the 96.5% more wub wub?
No.

Been playing up SWTOR lately since I got my beastly new computer. I really love the scale and story progression, even if it does make the game rather linear. It also suffers from giving only 3 or 2 options on what to do in conversations.

Played a couple minutes of Torchlight 2 last night. I was in the beta, so the beginning couple areas are nothing new. But there were more customization choices than the beta had, so that was nice.

Re: Official Video Games Thread VII: The 7th Generation Comes To A Close

My gf's 2nd PS3 bricked yesterday (meaning she owns 2, not 2nd to brick). So I am out a couple levels of effort in Borderlands 2. Apparently its happened before, and after a few days starts working again. No idea what that means. Tried to get to the recovery menu, but no video signal.

Bunch of stuff came out today. I might get LBP for Vita at some point. I will probably pick up Tokyo Jungle from PSN tonight.

Lastly, today's Amazon.com gold box deals are video game related. Deal of the day is Madden 13 for $39.99
