Injuries has been the story the last weeks of the season...carrying the large roster this season a smart move on Eddie's part...

Did you guys all forget the 2011 SUNYAC Semis? I know I haven't...

I'm pretty confident that they will be able to beat Fredonia, but it will not be as easy as you all think.

Zawadski was stellar in relief and is the reason they won tonight. Although I thought the 5 minute major was not a good call, they did use that opportunity to change the game. It seemed like the refs and linesmen lost their minds for about 10 minutes in the second period. Crazy, miscellaneous whistles stopping play for no apparent reason. Mysterious faceoffs, about ten missed offsides. Pretty entertaining game. In a season of firsts, the Lakers may have stole their first game.

You are correct on some of the whistles and the Lakers stealing one. For Emory to say in the Press Repulsive that the Cards did not have anyone big to step up is just nonsense. It was nice to have the hockey gods look kindly upon the Lakers last night. A nice win for Ducky to go out on!!! A favor returned for the way Romney was closed out.

Didnt think we would pull that one out but those guys played very good last night, and as somebody said,cant believe that was the team that got taken last weekend at home.I missed the hit to the head so no comment,we had a few 5 minute majors this season and didnt capitalize on them last night we did. Zman came in for a shaken gilbert who let in a few tough ones and closed the door GREAT JOB. The dmen did their job IFO the net and breakouts were descent.Forwards need to pick up points a little closer... The forwards were more aggressive on the forecheck as well,and on the PK we were more aggressive:D.Adams can flat out fly and his winner showed it,but Chewy should have stood tall on that one,5 hole??Plattys 1st goal we had a open chance to clear and didnt big mistake cant do that and continually beat top teams. Our PP looked good very poised for a big game.Great win with out several top scorers , and Galati missing the 2nd half of the game,was it a shot or a slash to the ankle?? Those who filled in for the somewhat regulars did a excellent job with a ton of huslte...Can we get a injury report on those injured, or is this in the realm of Bill Belichick:cool:

doesnt look like the goalie thing/struggle is going to go away anytime soon.

Platty went up 1-0 early in the second. Oswego scored two quick goals on a PP to take a 2-1 lead, then Platty came back with two quick ones to take a 3-2 lead. After the third goal, Gilbert was pulled. Although there was some talk that Gilby took himself out, but who knows. Then something weird happened with Z because he didn't seem like he was ready to go in. Something was wrong with his helmet and he ended up wearing Jasmin's helmet and played AMAZING. If he starts on Wednesday...he better be wearing Jasmin's lid again. :eek:

After the third Plattsburgh goal Gosek motioned for his timeout and to Z that he was going in... The officials never saw the timeout signal but the game was slowed because of the helmet issue. not sure what the issue was...

Thanks for the update. I turned it on for the 3rd, and didn't notice the mask LOL

What a great win for this team, as was the tie their first time around. Now, they need to take care with Fredonia Wednesday, and not end their season the way it started :eek:

SUNY Oswego will be hosting the Men’s Ice Hockey SUNYAC Play in game on Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00 PM. The following is the schedule for ticket sales:

Monday, February 24th phone sales for Season Ticket Holders will start at 9:00 am. Please anticipate a short wait as we provide service to our other Season Ticket Holders and will accommodate you as expeditiously as possible. Please be prepared with your credit card number as we do not (for security reasons) keep those numbers in our system. Tickets will be $8.00 each.

When Season Ticket Holders purchase their season tickets they can also purchase additional tickets in the General Admission Section #51.

Walk up sales will start for Season Ticket Holders and SUNY Oswego Students at 10:00 am on Monday, February 24th and continue through the day until 5:00 PM.

**Any Season Ticket Holders seats not purchased after 5:00 PM on Monday, February 24th will open up to the General Public on Tuesday morning February 25th at 10:00 AM by phone, walk up sales and online @ tickets.oswego.edu

Interestingly enough the men and the women have identical SUNYAC regular season records this year.

The "other" poll has the Lady Lakers #10 and the men #11 - I think this is the first time both teams have been ranked at the same time...yes? Not sure, but it might be the first time the women are ranked at all...someone help me here - Prez? Drafty?

Aaaannd in this poll, men are 12 and women received no votes...smh

I believe that's the first time the Oswego women have been ranked.

Correct. First time since the women's program was brought back in '06 that the team has been ranked. What a great story from this program. They were pretty much decimated after the aid package thing and people said it would never recover. They recovered. best of luck to them on Saturday!
