I had to move some of the girlfriends hair products off the shelf hanging from the shower head. :)

Three apartments ago, there was a shelf in the shower and a direct line to see the TV in the living room. That was fun.
The Trifecta to make that the perfect bathroom would be if you could see the TV from the Crapper while drinking a beer. :D

Who is vegetarian in your family?

Wife. To be serious, it has at least a) made me a better cook, and b) showed me how amazing Indian food is. (My wife's not Indian, it's just a no-fail go-to when we're going out.) You get yourself a nice, southern Indian vegetarian restaurant -- you don't notice the no-meat part. Mmmm.

Drinking thread. Sorry. Hooray beer! :D

I won't eat a meatless meal.

bbdl: quote from me yesterday at the TDay feast: "Meat, meat, more meat, and a touch of vegetable, to clean the palate." :D

And I should post this about 12 days from now, but fuggit. It gives me something to look forward to. Thank you, Willie Nelson:

Well I gotta get drunk and I sure do dread it
Cuz I know just what I'm gonna do
I'll start to spend my money callin' everybody honey
And I'll wind up singin' the blues
I'll spend my whole paycheck on some old wreck
And brother I can name you a few
Well I gotta get drunk and I sure do dread it
Cuz I know just what I'm gonna do

I gotta get drunk, I just can't stay sober
There's a lot of good people in town
Who like to see me holler, see me spend my dollar
And I wouldn't dream of lettin' 'em down
There's a lot of doctors tell me
That I'd better start slowing it down
But there's more old drunks than there are old doctors
So I guess we'd better have another round

Some vegis are good, like when they are flavored with meat flavors. See mashed potatoes and gravy.:D
Actually, my favorite thanksgiving food is stuffing, which is also partially flavored by meat.

My sister-in-law made the stuffing this year. It had sausage and was yummy. 2 animals had to die for my Thanksgiving meal.

And since this is the drinking thread, a bunch of grapes died for my Thanksgiving as well. I had a yummy red wine which someone else refilled for me so I never bothered to check (or ask) what it was.

Re: Official Drinking Thread Pt 5: Four Horsemen + Jerry: It's called The Voltron!

My mom made a new dressing with cremini mushrooms that was outstanding.

As for booze, I was convinced to try some pricey chardonnay that my uncle had brought for the big day. I have to admit that it was pretty good, and I don't think of myself as much of a wino. It makes sense though, as I do like whiskey and I also tend to like beers that have been aged in oak or other wooden barrels.

Green Bean Casserole topped with Fried Onions and.....wait for it......

Bacon Bits.

Followed by a shortie of Black Bush.

Best. Thanksgiving. Ever. :)

The fine folks at my grocery store have got Black Bush priced about $12 lower than regular Bushmills. I don't know what's up with that. They must think since more people ask for the standard that it must be better. (Not that I have anything against Bushmills.) This has been true since I noticed last year, so it's not some mix-up. Oh well! There'll be more of the better stuff around here. :D

I've noticed that Crown Royal has dropped in price, whereas Jack has risen, and Jameson has remained about the same. I dunno if it's a Canadian thing, a company-specific thing, or what, but I may have to sieze the opportunity, especially since the gift sets* are now out. :D

*Usually you get a couple glasses (most common), a shaker (Ketel One), etc etc. And legally they cannot charge extra for the gift sets in MN. :)

I think I will be putting Bailey's on my X-mas list. And I'm almost out of rum, maybe that should go on my list. Alcohol seems like a very appropriate gift in this economy.
