Bought Sam Adams Summer Ale... took a taste "oh, god, this is going to suck the same way as every other Sam Adams"... which I was shocked since this is supposed to be a wheat beer... how can it taste like every other Sam Adams? Kept drinking it... pretty good.

Due to an extremely crappy Tue, I'm having two fingers of that Balvenie Scotch that I bought on sale.

Actually bought 2 bottles, but one is for my buddies and me for that wedding week. :)

KBC Amber...always nice to have again. :)

Also tried my first mead, but I think it's more of a winter drink.

I miss the Keweenaw (and its eponymous brewery.)

Meads do tend to be a winter drink, especially the sweet meads, but a light dry mead would go great with fish on the grill.

BREAKING NEWS:

I like beer. Especially after sitting in the library at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee while Mr. wore Black collected research books for his thesis.

Re: Official Drinking Thread: I'm Having A 6-Pack Attack!: Part The Sixth

Picked up some Sprecher Black Bavarian, in preparation for my trip to Cheeseland.

You're going to WI and brought good beer with you? Oh wait, I get it.

:p

I do plan on bringing back some New Glarus, and maybe trying to find other good local brews there. As always, my goal will be to never repeat a beer at the bars/restaurants when I am on vacation, and try to stick to purely local brews.

Cripes, I wish we met up more. I'd love to buy some NG from you if you brought some extra. I do work in Plymouth (55 and 494) if that helps. :D

I highly suggest Lakefront Brewery. They have a great IPA. Their Wheat Monkey is good too.

Capital City Brewery is good, also any Point beer is good, Point 2012 Black Ale is similiar to Widowmaker

Pretty sure Captial City is from the east coast.

And I can get Capital City here.

I try to look for brews that I can't get here. For the Denver F4 (besides the Pat's Place nights) I didn't repeat a beer for a whole week. It was awesome.

Washington DC... Union Station and Convention Center
Arlington VA... some place where the subway doesn't go

Re: Official Drinking Thread: I'm Having A 6-Pack Attack!: Part The Sixth

Had to drink the last of the coffee I had this morning.

So I'm Irishing it up, since it's laundry/movie day, and I really don't have to do anything else. :)
