Cuervo works for me as an all-day beer. No idea why, but it does.

Michelob Golden Light works too (ask any Gopher fan :D )
One more thing I can't find around here. *sigh*

Regionally, Schell's and Leinie's are easy to drink all day. Won't make you feel full and don't slam you with that drunk feeling right away like some higher content beers might.
Alright, thank you! I'll start with something hard and then follow up with some Leinie's. :)

Picked up some Point 2012 Black Ale when I went to MI this afternoon to get pick up some KBC. The Black Ale so far is pretty **** good, dark and light like widowmaker but a very different flavor

Mmmmmmm.....Baltka and KBC.

And Miller Lite for when I am too drunk to care.

The old beer geek standard, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. When I want hops and I don't quite feel like plunking down a whole ten-spot for Bell's Two Hearted, SNPA never lets me down. :)

Decided to stay local (read, CVS)... so I decided to try the Honey Moon summer ale... holy hell is this mediocre! I can tell its a beer, but it doesn't taste like anything in particular. Leine's summer is MUCH better.

It was either that or trying the Sam Adams summer ale... but I shied away from it since the only Sam I've been able to drink is Octoberfest. I may try it next week unless I see something interesting at the supermarket tomorrow.

Splurged on some Oaked Arrogant Bastard.

WOW. Too powerful for me.

Went to Williams' last night (peanut bar with about 50 beers on tap, for you non-locals).

Started with the Finnegan's, just because I know it's good, then went for the 1L Franziskaner Dunkel Weiss (so *ing awesome) and then some Hoegaarden (also very good).

Some of my co-workers were looking for recommendations for different beers, so they asked me (the bar has a beer menu, with descriptions). Smithwick's, Bell's Two Hearted, Surly Bender, and a couple others went over well.

I was gifted a bottle of that several months ago. I thought it was smoother and even more arrogant, but I could see where some would not like it.

I think the last beer I said that about was Capital's Autumnal Fire.

Brent, I have a six of Finnegan's in the fridge right now. Bell's Two Hearted is pretty good but it's not a $10+ sixer imho. However since at the bar it's the same as remaining higher end beers I don't mind paying for it if that makes any sense.:)

That makes sense. The people I were with simply wanted to try some different beers (instead of the usual selection you would find at BW3's, etc), and they knew I've tried many different beers.

Man, I could go for another one of those Dunkel Weisses right now. It'd be perfect to offset this heat/humidity.

I liked THA a lot more when I could get it for $2.50 a pint at the DT in Houghton (plus if I stuck around long enough to order food, they often comped me a pint). However, it's a sentimental favorite because it's the first beer I ever bought for myself, so I feel obligated to revisit it every so often. :)

Very understandable. One of the reasons I still drink Bud once in a while. ;)

Another Monday night started at the Dog, moved to DT, then off to the Dog again for last call...good night, hopefully good sleep and easy day at work tomorrow

Re: Official Drinking Thread: I'm Having A 6-Pack Attack!: Part The Sixth

Thanks to a "mix and match" deal at my favorite purveyor of sin & vice, I have several beers I'm trying this weekend. So far...

-Belhaven Scottish Ale (Nitro-Can) - Sampled the bottled version back on New Years' Day, liked that a bit more. Still a good, balanced beer though.

-Short's "The Magician" Irish Red - My first dud in awhile. Weird herbal/sour taste (but not 'infected' sour). I was not a fan, and I'm not sure where they got 'Irish red' out of that mess. Disappointing, because I do tend to like that brewery.

-Rogue "Dad's Little Helper" Malt Liquor - Tastes like private high school. :D :p
